Chief Human Resources Officer

We’re looking for an exceptional **Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)** for a leadership role to lead our department in human resources at our startup, which is less than a year old in Vietnam with U.S. management. This position is salaried based, full-time, remote, and responsible for **benefits** and **compensation packages** as well as **employee relations** for our contract workforce.
CHRO's responsibilities include designing and evaluating career paths, overseeing all HR functions, and crafting strategies that meet our business goals. We'd like to meet you if you can help us transform our organization into a modern, productive, and inclusive workspace.
Ultimately, you will secure our long-term growth by leading all training, talent acquisition, and career development activities.
**Chief HR Officer responsibilities include**:
- Crafting talent acquisition strategies to build robust pipelines for future hiring needs
- Formulating career development plans
- Promoting inclusion in the workplace and reinforcing our position as an equal-opportunity employer
- Developing and implementing hiring practices that ensure the company has a diverse workforce with the appropriate skill sets to meet organizational goals
- Ensuring that employees are aware of available benefits and services, including insurance, retirement planning, employee assistance programs, and bereavement leave policies
- Overseeing employee training programs to ensure that new hires are adequately prepared for their jobs and that current employees have the skills and knowledge necessary to perform their jobs effectively
- Overseeing employee dismissal procedures when necessary, including conducting exit interviews with departing employees to learn about areas for improvement in the company’s hiring practices or workplace culture
- Evaluating employee performance to determine whether they are meeting job requirements and complying with company policies and procedures
- Developing and implementing policies regarding employee conduct and workplace safety
- Developing and implementing compensation and benefits packages for employees to attract and retain top talent
- Conducting exit interviews with departing employees to gather feedback about working conditions and identify areas for improvement in the company’s culture or processes
- Overseeing the recruitment, selection, hiring, and training of new employees
- Craft talent acquisition strategies to build robust pipelines for future hiring needs
- Formulate career development plans
- Promote inclusion in the workplace and reinforce our position as an equal opportunity employer.
- Ensure our hiring, onboarding, and management procedures are effective for diverse groups.
- Lead employer branding efforts (like recruitment marketing)
- Supervise HR Director
- Evaluate training and development programs
- Develop HR policies for all branches, countries, regions
- Analyze the effectiveness of our HR procedures and tools
- Ensure HR plans align with our mission and business objectives
- Lead HR projects like compensation plans revisions
- Implement functional HRMS and internal databases across all departments and locations
- Oversee our payroll and performance evaluation systems
- Design company policies and procedures
- Review and update our employment contracts and agreements
- Prepare budgets by department
- Track key HR metrics like cost per hire and retention rates
- Manage internal communication projects (like job satisfaction surveys)
- Measure the effectiveness of our benefits programs and recommend improvements
- Coordinate employee training and development initiatives
- Ensure our recordkeeping and data processing procedures comply with GDPR requirements.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field
- At least 7-10 years of experience in human resources management
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective human resources strategies
- Strong understanding of labor laws and regulations
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically
- Work experience as a Chief HR Officer, VP of HR, or similar role
- Experience in strategic planning
- In-depth knowledge of all HR functions
- Hands-on experience with HR software (HRIS, ATS)
- Good understanding of labor legislation
- Excellent leadership abilities
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Employee management and business acumen
- Proven experience as a CHRO or similar leadership role in the study abroad industry
- Startup and International experience is a plus
**Preferred Skills and Qualifications**:
- **Master’s degree** in human resources, business administration, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in human resources management
