Associate Vice President, Merchandising

**Description**
**PURPOSE/GENERAL SUMMARY**:
This role requires a leader to be very strategic with global perspective and possess sophistication in supply chain and process improvement knowledge. Able to lead big organizational change and development. Through close collaboration with US teams, develop and execute Global strategic sourcing initiatives. Identify manufacturing partners that are appropriate for production, and work with Far East Cross Functional Teams to enhance product offerings. Allocate resources necessary to achieve plans.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- **Establish partnership relationship with brand teams, Product Development and Production & Sourcing leaders.** Develop an understanding of the brands, sourcing strategy, delivery expectations, and current and future service requirements. Participate actively in the strategic planning process.
- **Develop a Global sourcing strategy** for garment production in accordance with the specific needs of Brands to ensure company and growth plans are secured. Include considerations on brand strategy, margin expectation, product mix, program direction, piece goods and capacity requirements, volume and pricing, changing trends, economic indicators, competitors and exclusive services VS&Co can offer at the time of strategy development. Orchestrate the requirements from brands to development in the region.
- **Develop and execute sourcing plan** from strategy. Make sourcing trips to factories to identify, develop and grow the development and production bases for the business.
- **Work seamlessly with Design partners and vendors on **Innovation and Seasonal developments, risk assess for bulk execution and resolutions, ensure on-time samples and costing submission.
- **Costing studies**. Coach/Calibrate the team and vendors on costing study and sensitivity on the cost drivers. Explore opportunity on cost saving. Lead the major cost negotiation with vendor base on key and new items.
- **Act **as the content expert of the Global regions, able to supply VS&CO core team with competitive activity, economic indicators, sourcing opportunities, fabric and raw material capabilities, political and labor issues.
- **Establish and manage profit and budget plans.** Monitor performance against plan on a regular basis and make appropriate changes to achieve plan. Effectively manage cost by monitoring performing cost and margin analysis, etc. Manage all aspects of claims with factories.
- **Human resources management.** Allocate staffing resources for maximum effectiveness without redundant effort by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, compensating, recognizing and appraising job performance results in concert with regional/country managers. Act as coach, mentor and role model. Work with staff on productivity, delegation, personal growth, development, and succession planning. Responsible for the morale and associate relations for the division(s). Support and foster teamwork.
- **Responsible for following and practicing Victoria’s Secret & Co. behavior.** Projecting the appropriate shadow that demonstrates our beliefs and guiding principles.
**Qualifications**
- 20+ years related experience in following up time and actions
- Relevant capability in designated function
- Product Development - costing, consumption, risk assessment, product development and market intelligence.
- Proven record in excellent leadership and people management skills
- Able to navigate and influence as trusted adviser to leadership team including those in brands in matrix organization
- Proficient in Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Bachelor’s degree/Higher Diploma or equivalent
