Responsible for the overall automation and controls systems design, specification, programming, simulation and testing, and start-up assistance. Develop and implement standard engineering practices, as well as provide detailed documentation upon project completion. Responsible for overseeing the panel design and layout, and wiring schematic capabilities and ensuring all design practices, installation methods, testing and commissioning are running smoothly.

Implementation and execution of new strategies and structures for Automation Department in the Southeast Asia region. Provide planning leadership and direction as well as active talent and staff management. Facilitate the knowledge transfer within the group. Ensure Automation team in SEA region is in compliance with Bühler related directives and EHS standards.

1) Sales & Quotation (Automation)
- Provide technical leadership and direction for projects in the quotation phase for all automa-tion and electrical related items.
- To elaborate technical and commercial analysis of customer requirements in alignment with the sales manager
- Advises Quotation team in all technical belongings whilst ensuring that the proposals will meet the customers expectation
- Development of the technical concept in collaboration with sales, technology, engineering and commercial services

2) Installation & Commission (Automation)
- Leading the site team including subcontractors, external interfaces and the interface to the customer on all automation items.
- Attaining complete knowledge of the site execution plan, time schedule, scope of supply, major subcontracts, budget and account structure, status of documentation, site staffing plan, applicable local regulations and restrictions.
- Monitors progress of installation, and takes steps to ensure the completion of project is achieved. Initiates as required mitigation/ preventive actions to achieve target completion timeline while maintaining the budget

3) Engineering (Automation)
- Provide technical advice and direction in automation engineering and is the point of contact whenever deep and extensive technical know-how is needed.
- Actively participate in project meetings with cross - functional team members, suppliers, and/or customers
- Drive innovative and reliable designs from technology development until customer satisfaction in the field of automation
- Perform knowledge management and maintain an expertise networks by documenting the expertise

4) Project Management (Automation)
- Managing and leading the project team including internal partners, subcontractors, consortium partner if applicable, as well as external interfaces.
- Profit and loss responsibility for the allocated project by delivering the project within time, budget and cash targets in the required quality whilst optimizing the margin.
- Supervise the final negotiations for the allocated project and provides the execution strategy
- Manage and lead the project team in order to achieve and further improve the cost, schedule, quality and EHS targets
- Perform proper risk and opportunity management
- Ensure proper deviation management within the project. Assess, approve and expedite technical aspects of change orders and define effective claim strategies towards clients, partners, subcontractors, etc.
- Prepare and perform Project Reviews as requested, report according Bühler Project Management process
- Develop and maintain corresponding relationships with clients, partners and main subcontractors to ensure smooth operation of projects and smooth dispute resolution

5) SEA Automation Team Management
- Manage all aspects of the Project Execution group, define priorities, and nominate Automation team members to projects and assignments
- Ensure development and implementation of project management lessons learned / best practices from projects under execution beyond location. Ensure that complaints are registered and formally solved
- Survey the progress of the projects in team member’s portfolio. Ensure project scope completeness, consistency and technical integrity
- Manage department cost budget and recovery rate targets
- Lead or contribute to BA/ Regional Project Execution coordination meetings to foster alignment of tools, processes and standards across the SEA automation team
- Ensure leadership and motivation by establishing an open and broad communication of the principles, objectives, targets and processes including the feedback communication
- Provide staff with proper support, training and development opportunities to build and maintain world-class automation capabilities
- Manage all hiring activities and HR related matters in accordance with the HR Lead
- Define, together with staff, goals and objectives aligned with the Department needs
