The Partnership for Vivax Elimination (PAVE) is a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
- and United-funded initiative led by PATH and Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) to support countries in the control and elimination of _Plasmodium vivax_ (_P. vivax_) malaria. The goal of PAVE is to support the adoption and increased access to a suite of products to address the unique challenges associated with _P. vivax_ malaria globally. Through PAVE, PATH and MMV work closely with the World Health Organization (WHO), National Malaria Programs (NMPs), and country-based healthcare partners to support the introduction and use of these effective tools, which include malaria diagnostics, G6PD diagnostics, blood-stage drugs, and liver-stage radical-cure drugs. Guided by the leadership of national health agencies, PAVE provides support in terms of market analytics, evidence generation (i.e., operational studies), technical expertise, and product delivery coordination as countries seek to optimize radical cure in national programs and accelerate progress towards malaria elimination goals.

PATH is seeking a Regional Market Dynamics Consultant to lead PATH PAVE activities in the Greater Mekong Subregion and serve as co-Regional Advisor with a counterpart from MMV. This role will represent PATH and PAVE in the Mekong and will collaborate with NMPs, WHO, regulatory bodies, procurement agencies, researchers, and other critical national stakeholders to ensure the safe and efficient adoption of new tools for malaria. Primary focus countries include Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam, with the potential for expanded engagement over time to other countries in the region, including Papua New Guinea and Indonesia.

This position will report to the Market Dynamics Malaria Portfolio Lead, based in Seattle. There is a strong preference for this position to be based in Southeast Asia, including at PATH’s Hanoi, Vietnam office; however other locations will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

**Specific responsibilities include**:
**Coordination**:

- Closely collaborate with PATH Headquarters, MMV’s Regional Advisor, PAVE country teams, and various partner organizations in key target adoption countries (Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, and potentially others) to develop tailored country plans, monitor timely progress and completion of key deliverables. Contribute to development and monitoring of project indicators.
- In collaboration with PAVE country teams, NMPs, researchers and, other relevant partners, help keep an updated roadmap for policy adoption, funding mobilization, procurement processes, distribution, and availability of radical cure products in target countries across the region.
- Liaise with country implementing partners and the procurement agent(s) on supply chain and procurement planning for malaria drugs and diagnostics, and engage with with key regional stakeholders (i.e. WHO, Asia Pacific Malaria Elimination Network, and regional development financing organizations) to support development of sustainable procurement financing.
- Coordinate and attend regularly scheduled PAVE Mekong project team meetings.
- Attend regularly scheduled PAVE Global and PATH project team meetings.

**Technical Assistance and evidence generation**:

- Support and provide technical expertise to NMPs, country teams, and national government partners for protocol development and execution of operational feasibility studies, cost-effectiveness studies, and pharmacovigilance efforts to inform policy adoption decisions for new and existing tools (malaria diagnostics, G6PD diagnostics, primaquine, and tafenoquine).
- Review, provide feedback, and act as a quality control on _vivax _diagnostics and medicine training materials, standard operating procedures, and job aids developed by PAVE country teams and partners.
- Assist the global support and country project teams (finance, external relations, and access) in developing monthly internal reports, bi-annual reports to the donor, including progress against project targets, as well as ad hoc programmatic reporting as necessary.
- Support impact modeling on key project targets and global data anlaysis on various malaria indicators, and other quantitaitve workstreams as appropriate.
- Support the writing and development of grant funding proposals.
