The Italian machine tool sector is one of the key players in the international scenario, where it's fourth in the worldwide ranking of production, exports and consumption.

The project IMT is promoted by UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, the Italian machine tools, robots and automation manufacturers' Association.

The Member Companies of IMT Vietnam are:
BUFFOLI, FICEP, GERARDI, INNSE BERARDI, LOSMA, PRIMA INDUSTRIE, RETTIFICATRICI GHIRINGHELLI, ROSA ERMANDO.


Among them, FICEP SPA is the "leader company" of IMT that acts in name and on behalf of the Companies of the network contract.


In order to carry out promotional and marketing activities and to support the direct presence of IMT Members within the Vietnamese Market, IMT working station is operative from Dezan Shira & Associates - DSA's office in Ho Chi Minh City.


IMT is looking for a Business Development Manager to manage the office and the relations among Italian manufacturers and Vietnamese stakeholder.

About the position:

Business Development Manager - Profile and Job Description


You'll be responsible for the support to IMT Italian companies to develop their group marketing and promotional activities in Vietnam.


Profile and Qualifications:

  • Clear and punctual knowledge of the Vietnamese market, its supporting industries and machine tool sector, key players, main trade exhibitions.
  • 35 years of experiences in the machine tools, machinery industries and mechanical sectors.
  • Higher education is mandatory (college degree or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Economics or Management.
  • Good command of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Power Point
  • Fluency in English is mandatory. Fluency in Italian will be considered a plus.
  • Availability to travel into Vietnam and Italy/abroad (for short period)

Professional Attributes:

  • Networking Skills: important for a daily basis relations with Italian companies and, on the other side, to hold business conversations and develop a strong network of relations for IMT and its Members.
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Requested strong analytical and process improvement approach, able to communicate business needs and requirements both to technicalcommercial teams and to marketing ones of IMT Members.

Main tasks include:

  • Planning and organization of effective promotional initiatives (as per IMT Members suggestions) in order to collect interests/business leads from potential customers and enhance the visibility of IMT Members in the Market.
  • Managing the participation with IMT booth or visit at the most important machine tool exhibitions and events in Vietnam.
  • Organization of an Annual IMT Event across Vietnam aimed at presenting the technologies of IMT Member companies to Vietnamese machinery end-users: one day dedicated to a seminar / workshop and B2B meetings in a selected city; two days dedicated to company visits
  • Developing and implementing crossplatform marketing campaigns in collaboration with the marketing teams of IMT Members (Newsletter, social media/LinkedIn, website etc)
  • Keeping up to date with industry knowledge, new technological trends, seeking out new partners that will help to support IMT Members to meet market targets
  • Conducting researches on key industries relevant to IMT, on latest market trends in Vietnam, analysing the market and mapping customers in different segments: analysis on demand (enduser sectors) and analysis on competition; distribution channel (agents/distributors)
  • Creation of database of relevant contacts (agents, dealers, customers, partners, etc. based on the requirements of Italian IMT companies)
  • Reporting results of IMT activities to Italian companies
  • Support Sales Managers and local agents of IMT Members in Vietnam
  • Training period in Italy to visit exhibitions and Italian member companies' plants, getting to know the Italian technology offer
