R&D Specialist (Cosmetics)

Working time
: Monday to Friday (08:30 – 17:00)

Working location
: No. 56, Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City

Responsibilities

  • New formulation development: Develop new cosmetic formulations, including skincare, haircare, and makeup products, ensuring they meet company standards and customer needs.
  • Modify the original formulation from Japan to meet local conditions.
  • Conduct thorough research on new ingredients, raw materials, and technologies. Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive products.
  • Testing and Evaluation: Evaluate new materials from suppliers, create new testing data to support sales activities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with RD in Japan and sales team in local to ensure the formula construction in accordance with customer needs and product distribution rights.
  • Responsible for operating the laboratory.
  • Responsible for sample sending to the customers (collaborate with part time staff).
  • Provide technical advice and support to customers, including participation in client meetings or covisits with the sales team.
  • Technical training for new members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in related fields such as Chemistry, Cosmetic Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, or other related sciences.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in the cosmetics R&D field.
  • Experience in developing formulas from the concept stage to finalizing the formulation.
  • Deep understanding of cosmetic ingredients and market trends.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize scientific information to apply to research and formulation development.
  • Practical laboratory skills, including build formulation, testing, and optimization of fomulas quality.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment
  • Teamwork and effective communication skills to collaborate with other team members or other branches.
  • Time management skills and the ability to work under pressure to complete projects on time.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills to provide innovative solutions for formulation improvement.
  • Ability to read and understand scientific reports, research documents, and write reports in English. Self-learning capability and keeping up-to-date with new trends and technologies in the cosmetics industry.
  • Carefulness, meticulousness, and patience in work.
