- Position Summary
- RMIT Vietnam's Market Intelligence & Analytics Department seeks a motivated Qualitative Researcher cum Moderator to drive qualitative studies, collaborate with stakeholders, and enhance customer insights. Responsibilities include strategic development, research execution, and dissemination of actionable insights. The role requires expertise in education markets, leadership skills, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders in Vietnam and Melbourne. The position is primarily in HCMC but covers other regional markets as directed by the university.

- Key Accountabilities
- Work with relevant stakeholders (e.g. schools, recruitments, marketing, etc.) and other team members to identify clear, concise project objectives.
- Lead design qualitative market research projects and/or contribute to design of multi-phased projects that inform and enhance decision making including but not limited to Products, Pricing, Brand and Market Performance.
- Takes a lead role to formulate, articulate and validate hypotheses to help build appropriate, relevant, and impactful stories.
- Manage implementation options with internal stakeholders and external agencies, including respondent’s selection and randomization process. Manage and help conduct qualitative fieldworks according to plan.
- Moderating both face-to-face and virtual focus groups/workshops, in-depth interviews, and digital online communities
- Develops and disseminates necessary project materials to research team and partner agencies, including but not limited to proposals, discussion/interview guides, concepts, memos, summaries, etc.
- Crafting reports and presentations independently and collaboratively to translate qualitative insights into actionable recommendations targeting top managing team and other related stakeholders in the university.
- Supports data collection and analytical needs for research projects.
- Oversees internal research procedures and maintains confidentiality of participant information; ensures compliance with RMIT Privacy, Compliance, Risk & Regulation; suggest and implement processes and tools that enables the digital, regional expansion initiatives of the university.
- Performs other related work as needed.
- Key Selection Criteria
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field, ideally in a social science (e.g., Marketing, Psychology, Languages, Sociology).
- At least 3-4 years of relevant qualitative market research experience in market research, education and/or similar industries.
- Demonstrate profound knowledge qualitative market research techniques and industry practices. Fluent understanding of and great familiarity with the overall qualitative research process including logistics, design, execution, and implications.
- Significant moderation experience. Solid communication/ interpersonal capabilities-both face-to-face and virtual.
- Experience synthesizing research findings, determining relevant implications and presenting results. Personal strength in analytical and creative writing is a plus.
- Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills.
- Proven contributor in the development and implementation of new qualitative approaches and structures.
- Excellent customer service approach and ability to engage, support, and work collaboratively with managers and stakeholders at all levels internally and externally.
