ACCOUNTABILITIES
Vendor Management
- Develop and maintain relationships with third-party logistics vendors and transportation partners.
- Manage the performance of logistics vendors to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing terms with vendors, ensuring the best possible value for the company.
- Monitor vendor performance metrics and collaborate with vendors to resolve performance issues.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of logistics vendor contracts and service levels to identify opportunities for improvement.
Warehouse Order Fulfillment
- Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate picking, packing, and shipping of orders.
- Monitor the order fulfillment process to ensure adherence to customer expectations and deadlines.
- Troubleshoot order fulfillment issues, identifying root causes and working with internal teams to resolve them.
Performance & Reporting
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to vendor performance, order fulfillment efficiency, and transportation effectiveness.
- Generate and analyze reports on logistics activities to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
- Provide regular updates and performance reports to senior management, offering insights and recommendations for optimization.
Problem Resolution
- Address any issues related to inbound shipments, warehouse operations, order fulfillment, or domestic transportation in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., warehouse, procurement, sales) and external partners (e.g., carriers, vendors) to resolve logistical challenges.
- Work proactively to prevent recurring issues and mitigate disruptions in the supply chain.
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in logistics management.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Stay current with logistics industry trends and technology to ensure the company remains competitive in the market.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or vendor management, with a focus on warehouse order fulfillment and domestic transportation.
- Proven experience in vendor negotiation, relationship management, and performance monitoring.
- Strong understanding of logistics software and systems (e.g., WMS, TMS, ERP systems).
- Experience working with third-party logistics providers and transportation carriers.
Skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to interact effectively with vendors, customers, and internal teams.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of importing- exporting, transportation regulations and compliance.
