Product Development Manager

**I. Key Responsibilities**:
**1. R&D**:

- **Research and Development**:
- Collaborate with relevant departments to research, develop, and improve the company organic fertilizer and biochar products, ensuring that products meet market demands and high-quality standards.
- **Build product development strategies and develop fertilizer formulas**for each target crop and area of HUSK Vietnam, aimed at optimizing crop yield and quality.
- Conduct research trials to develop new fertilizer formulas and optimize existing formulas, especially in the combination of biochar with other organic components.
- **Establish Product Development Process**:
- Build and monitor the product development process from research, trial stages, to pilot production and market launch.
- Ensure that products developed and launched meet the requirements for quality, performance, and competitiveness.
- **Product Quality and Performance Improvement**: Analyze customer feedback and actual data to adjust and improve product quality, thereby enhancing product efficiency and stability throughout its usage cycle.
- **Fertilizer Material Selection & optimization**:
- **Evaluate and Select Materials**: Evaluate and select organic materials used in fertilizer production to ensure compatibility and stable pellet quality.
- **Optimize Raw Materials**: Propose methods to optimize raw materials used to reduce production costs, enhance efficiency, and ensure high-quality organic fertilizer.

**2. TRIALS AND DEMOS**:

- **Conduct Field Trials**:
- Oversee and refine the field trials strategy for HUSK Vietnam products, to ensure both short and long term trials on product development.
- Design cost effective means of measuring soil health, reduction in synthetic fertilizer use and net revenue increase for farmers, considering key aspects including nutrient uptake efficiency, water uptake efficiency and other aspects
- Analyze trial results to assess product performance and effectiveness and inform future product design processes
- Liaise with universities and R&D centers to validate findings and gather additional insights, arranging third party verification where possible
- Establish mechanisms to gather feedback from farmers, distributors, and other stakeholders.
- Use feedback to refine and improve products, ensuring they meet market needs and deliver net revenue increase for farmers.- Provide instructional materials and technical support for demos to ensure customers clearly understand and trust HUSK Vietnams products.
- Plan and execute product demo trial programs in local areas or with potential customer groups to assess product effectiveness and feasibility.

**3. NETWOKING**:

- **Participate in Meetings, Seminars, and Events**: Attend meetings, seminars, and events to introduce and promote the company products, helping to build the HUSK Vietnam brand in the organic agriculture sector.

**4. COMPLIANCE WITH STANDARDS AND REGULATIONS**:

- **Ensure Products Meet International Standards**: Oversee and ensure that all products developed and produced by the company comply with safety and quality standards, and the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) set by regulatory authorities for HUSK Vietnam.

**5. GRANT MANAGEMENT**
- Managing, operating, and tracking the grants happening in Vietnam which are assigned from HUSK group or obtained by HUSK Vietnam.
- Ensure HUSK complies with requirements for individual grants (i.g. conduct survey, trials, demos, farming training and farmer meeting, collect data and reports, impacts or economic efficiency calculation.)

**II. Key Requirements**:

- 5-10 years of R&D in fertilizer industry (Prefer Organic Fertilizer experienced)
- Proven track record in product development, designing formulations, and implementing prototypes, R&D plans and field trials
- Aptitude for learning new expertise areas, especially in biochar & biostimulants
- Passionate about regenerative agriculture
- Good in written and spoken English
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
- Understanding of the standards and regulations in the fertilizer industry
