Helvetas, a leading organization in development cooperation and humanitarian response, is seeking an experienced professional to lead our team in Vietnam. As an International Team Manager for Sustainable Tourism Development, you will play a crucial role in contributing to a more sustainable and inclusive tourism sector in the region.

About the Job

The Swiss Tourism for Sustainable Development Project (ST4SD) is a three-year initiative funded by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). Our team is responsible for implementing this project in collaboration with local partners, including the Centre for Rural Economy Development (CRED).

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and technical support to achieve the project's objectives. This includes managing project implementation, finance, administration, human resources, and strengthening the monitoring system and knowledge management.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and technical support to contribute to the achievement of outcomes of the project.
  • Coach the project team and partners, fostering a productive working and learning environment, and promoting team spirit.
  • Manage the project successfully in implementation, finance, administration, human resources.
  • Strengthen the monitoring system, as well as knowledge management for steering, accountability and learning.
  • Assure synergies with other projects supported by SECO in Vietnam.
  • Represent the project to donors, partners, and others.

Requirements

  • Academic qualifications (preferably Master's degree) in Tourism and/ or Hospitality Management
  • At least 5 years of experience, with strong expertise in sustainable tourism development, tourism skills development, and collaboration with the public and private sectors in sustainable tourism.
  • Professional experience in Switzerland and developing countries, preferably in Asia. Particularly, experience in networking with international/Swiss private and public actors
  • Proven track record in managing large projects, and cooperating with a number of stakeholders and in strengthening/building the capacity of key partners.
  • Advanced knowledge and connections with Swiss expert institutions and networks.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills, including result-oriented management, strategic planning, human resources management, and financial management skills. Ability to anticipate issues and identify proactive solutions.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, with strong interpersonal, intercultural and communication skills.
  • Excellent spoken and written English

What We Offer

  • An international contract for the duration of 2 years, attractive working conditions in dynamic teams.
  • A competitive salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
