ABOUT VINUNIVERSITY
- VinUniversity is a newly developed, private, non-profit university in Hanoi, Vietnam. It was established by Vingroup with a mission to be the first world-class, internationally accredited and recognized university in Vietnam. VinUniversity has two overarching goals: to excel in teaching; and to produce graduates and research that contribute to developing the key economic sectors of Vietnam.
- The formation of the VinUniversity has resulted from the collaboration of Vingroup with Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania. Cornell provides academic consulting on Management, Engineering and Technology; and Penn focuses on the Health Sciences disciplines. Both Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania are distinguished Ivy League institutions based in the United States of America. Cornell is involved in every aspect of the development of VinUniversity from infrastructure and campus planning to curriculum development and faculty hiring. Cornell’s SC Johnson College of Business is providing extensive academic advisement in a variety of areas, drawing from a wealth of faculty expertise at multiple colleges and units at Cornell University. Penn’s medical and nursing schools are functioning in a similar fashion to guide the formation of health science education at VinUniversity and to interface with Vinmec, Vingroup’s outstanding health system which currently encompasses 7 hospitals throughout Vietnam. VinUniversity aims to meet the QS 5-star rating standards and will include the following colleges within the University: a College of Business and Management (including Hospitality, and Real Estate); a College of Engineering and Computer Science; a College of Health Sciences.

THE OPPORTUNITY
- The Academic Engagement Officer is an integral member of the Academic Engagement and Global Exchange Department of VinUniversity. The post holder will be tasked with executing activities related to the administration, budgeting and finance, and development of the different activities of the Department including the Vingroup Science and Technology Scholarship Program, fellowship/grant program for exchange students, as well as general academic engagement responsibilities.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reports to: Director of External Engagement

1. Manage the operations of academic engagement and scholarship/grant programs
- Develop action plan, working procedure and make reports for the assigned projects.
- Communicate procedures clearly and make timely and complete announcements.
- Develop and manage the Department’s budgets, disburse the payment and keep track of the Department’s program expenses.
- Create and maintain updated documents and forms for, and records of, the programs, including summaries and evaluations as well as contact information of the stakeholders.
- Perform scholarship/fellowship disbursement and other finance-related duties.

2. Support Academic Engagement activities
- Organize events and meetings for the Academic Engagement Department.
- Liaise with external partners/stakeholders for the development of academic relationship of VinUniversity.
- Develop and maintain relationship with external engagement partners and keep track of contact database.

3. Other duties as assigned by management.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university.
- At least 03 years working experience in program administration, executive assistance at an international development organization, non-profit agency, university, international education organization.
- Demonstrate experience in meeting organization, project planning, financial literacy, budget management, and task prioritization.
- Demonstrate a genuine passion for contributing to develop a world-class education in Vietnam and have a strong commitment in managing a long-haul program.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Highly developed communication skills including; well-developed interpersonal, negotiation, networking skills and coordination.
- Good analytical skills and ability to manage budget and navigate accounting practices.
- Good time management skills, resilience, ability to multi-task effectively and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Well-organized person and a team player.
- Ability to provide exemplary account management and responsiveness to a wide variety of stakeholders.
