Overview and Objectives of the Position:
The In Country representative - Southeast Asia plays a significant role in driving sales growth and achieving student recruitment targets in their region on behalf of the University of Canberra and the University of Canberra College - working closely with colleagues based in-market including the Regional Management team. This position will be responsible for on-the-ground sales activities including, but not limited to agent training, lead generation events, student conversion, and solving specific student, parent, or agent queries. This requires the ability to support a broad range of internal and external stakeholders across the region to drive long-term growth for specific product(s) in the market.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Provide support and advice to prospective students seeking to study at the University of Canberra and the University of Canberra College
- Collaborate with, and attend student recruitment exhibitions conducted by, the University and University of Canberra College, its agents, institutional partners, schools, and other channel partners across various locations in South East Asia in relation to prospective student-facing activities;
- Enhance student attraction, conversion, and retention; and expand and enhance the student experience and success initiatives (contributing to the University of Canberra’s and the University of Canberra College’s value proposition)
- Provide support through training sessions and advice to the University of Canberra’s and the University of Canberra College’s appointed agents, institutional partners, and other channel partners;
- Promote the University of Canberra and the University of Canberra College effectively to expand the University’s presence across South East Asia;
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and provide the necessary support to result in quality conversions;
- Provide feedback on market conditions that may impact the University of Canberra’s and the University of Canberra College’s ability to operate effectively to recruit students from South East Asia
- All services are to be provided in a manner that complies with the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act and any other relevant Australian laws
- Willingness and ability to undertake work from locations as advised by the University and University of Canberra College when located at the home station.
- Any KPIs should be expressly included in the Agreement to ensure compliance. Further, stating that the KPIs must align with UC’s and UCC’s recruitment objectives indicates the Contractor/Consultant is conducting recruitment-type services.
- Operationalize student recruitment plans in the relevant country/territory in collaboration with the university, college-based, and in-market teams
- Handle student inquiries and manage leads.
- Ensure complete and accurate reporting of all activities on the CRM
- Execute the pre-departure process with channel partners and students

Selection Criteria and Qualifications

Essential:

- Bachelor’s degree
- Proven track record of strong sales performance
- High level of numeric literacy and critical thinking
- High level interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills including Business level is written and oral capability in English
- Proven ability as a team player
- Ability to demonstrate innovative thinking
- An eye for developing new recruitment initiatives
- Ability to take responsibility for decisions and outcomes
- Flexible attitude to work including a willingness to work weekends and evenings in support of recruitment activities both locally and internationally
- Ability to meet targets within defined timelines among changing priorities

Desirable:

- Success in a sales role within the Higher Education sector
- Proven ability to monitor and evaluate the success of activities and report appropriately
- Proven ability to work successfully with education agents
- Experience in working effectively within a matrix structure to ensure competing demands are met
- Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM systems
