BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW

Future Students Office is responsible for managing and coordinating the prospective student journey from first enquiry to enrolment. The unit has a recruitment and conversion focus, aimed at identifying and supporting aspiring UC applicants and nurturing them through the process. The Office is tasked with ensuring a seamless and integrated experience is provided to all prospective students, using technology and business processes that are focused on the needs and expectations of the students and other key participants.

FSO works closely with relevant internal and external stakeholders to deliver a best of breed service aimed at identifying, engaging with and converting future UC students to current UC students.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Operating under the direction of the Business Development Manager for Southeast Asia and Latin America, the in-country representative for Southeast Asia will play a significant role in driving sales growth and achieving student recruitment targets in the region. This position will be responsible for on-the-ground sales activities, including but not limited to, agent training, event participation, student conversion, engagement with institutional partners, and supporting the generation of new business.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide comprehensive support and advice to prospective students seeking to study at the University of Canberra.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including education agents, institutional partners, schools, and other channel partners.
- Enhance student attraction, conversion, and retention, and expand and enhance student experience and success initiatives, contributing to the University of Canberra’s value proposition.
- Maintain up-to-date product knowledge of appointed agents through regular training and engagement activities.
- Promote the University of Canberra effectively to expand the University’s presence across Vietnam.
- Participate in student recruitment exhibitions, events, fairs, and seminars conducted by channel partners across various locations in Vietnam.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and provide necessary support to achieve quality conversions.
- Provide feedback on market conditions that may impact the University of Canberra’s ability to operate effectively to recruit students from Southeast Asia.
- Ensure all services are provided in compliance with the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act and any other relevant Australian laws.
- Demonstrate willingness and ability to work from locations as advised by the University, including undertaking extensive travel on behalf of the University.

SELECTION CRITERIA AND QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

- Tertiary level qualifications with at least two years' work experience in international education.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in the international education sector to implement agreed-upon sales and recruitment strategies that meet student targets.
- Experience in building and managing internal and external relationships, particularly with agents, institutional partners, government bodies, and high schools.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment and independently organise work priorities, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
- Flexibility in work approach, including willingness to work outside normal office hours to support recruitment activities both locally and internationally.
- High proficiency in computer-based office information systems, especially spreadsheets and databases.
