**ASSISTANT to ACTING PRINCIPAL**

APU International School is a private coeducational international school enrolling students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. We currently operate a secondary campus and a separate elementary (K-5) campus. APU International School has been operating in Ho Chi Minh City since 2004 is growing. Many of our high school students have aspirations of going to college or university in the United States upon completing the standard US High School course of study at APU.

Here at APU, we strive to build a team of world-class educators and support staff in pursuit of our mission of academic excellence. As we continue to expand our academic programs, we are looking to fill a number of select faculty and non-teaching staff roles.

**JOB SUMMARY**

The Assistant to Acting Principal (AP) assists the AP in the performance of the various leadership responsibilities, which are attendant to the successful administration of the school. The specific duties which are assigned by the AP and the decision-making authority related to such assignments are as established in the working relationship between the AP and the Assistant.

**MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

The Assistant AP may have the major responsibility for certain duties, which are ultimately the overall responsibility of the AP. Among these may be:

- Coordination and supervision of activities.
- Evaluation of programs.
- Evaluation of staff performance.
- Supervision of facilities.
- Responsibility for the safety, conduct, and general welfare of students.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Excellent in communication and academic English.
- Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience in an educational environment.
- Ability and willingness to follow directions given and to perform assigned duties in accordance with applicable school guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Sound educational philosophy and instructional competence.
- Knowledge of current information, theory and research in school settings.
- Knowledge of and prior successful experience working in culturally diverse settings.
- Ability to evaluate the instructional process as well as curriculum and materials.
- Knowledge or experience in the process of school improvement.
