Business Development Representative

About the Role
We are looking for a proactive Business Development Representative (BDR) to fuel our sales pipeline. This role is focused on identifying, engaging, and qualifying potential customers within our target segments, while also researching industry events and expos where our sales team can meet high-potential clients.
You'll be responsible for opening doors with SMEs, brand owners, and distributors through research, outreach, and event-based lead generation, then handing over well-qualified opportunities to our sales team.
Key Responsibilities
● Research and build lists of potential leads that fit our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP).
● Reach out to prospects via cold calls, WhatsApp, email, and LinkedIn to generate interest.
● Qualify prospects by identifying budget, decision-making authority, needs, and timeline.
● Book discovery calls/meetings for the sales team with high-potential leads.
● Log all outreach and qualification notes accurately in the CRM.
● Research and compile lists of relevant industry events, expos, and trade shows that align with our ICP.
● Coordinate with the sales team to plan attendance at key events and build targeted attendee/exhibitor lists in advance.
● Follow up consistently with prospects to keep them warm and engaged.
● Work closely with the sales team to ensure a smooth handoff of qualified leads.
● Track activity metrics (calls, emails, meetings booked) and report weekly progress.
Must-Have Qualifications
● 2–3 years of experience in outbound B2B sales or lead generation.
● Proven success hitting activity and meeting-booking targets.
● Strong communication and persuasion skills over phone, WhatsApp, and email.
● Fluent in English
● Comfortable using CRM tools to manage pipeline and activity tracking.
● Disciplined, organized, and motivated to succeed in a high-activity role.
Preferred Qualifications
● Familiarity with SMEs, e-commerce, wholesale, or supply chain industries.
● Experience generating leads for brand owners, distributors, or B2B buyers.
● Experience with lead automation software and automating lead gen workflows
● Background in startup or fast-growth sales environments.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
