Role Description
The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) is a strategic executive responsible for building and scaling the people strategy in a fast-paced technology environment. This role drives organizational growth by strengthening talent pipelines, developing digital-ready leaders, shaping an innovation-driven culture, and implementing HR systems that support rapid scaling. The CHRO partners closely with the CEO and executive team to ensure that people, culture, and organizational capability become competitive advantages.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic People & Organization Leadership
- Develop and execute a future-ready HR strategy aligned with the company's technology roadmap and business goals.
- Partner with the CEO on organization design, workforce transformation, and scaling strategy across engineering, product, data, and commercial teams.
- Build a culture of innovation, agility, collaboration, and continuous learning.
2. Talent Acquisition & Tech Workforce Planning
- Lead hiring strategies for niche and high-demand roles (software engineers, product managers, data scientists, cybersecurity, cloud, AI/ML).
- Design employer branding campaigns tailored to the tech talent market.
- Implement scalable recruitment systems and data-driven hiring practices.
3. Talent Development, Leadership & Capability Building
- Create strong leadership development programs for engineering and product leaders.
- Build learning pathways for upskilling and reskilling in emerging technologies (AI, data, cloud, automation).
- Develop succession plans for all critical roles, especially technology leadership.
4. Total Rewards, HR Tech & People Operations
- Design compensation structures competitive with tech industry standards (RSUs, performance bonuses, retention programs).
- Oversee HR systems (HRIS, ATS, performance tools) and automate HR workflows for scale.
- Drive data-driven HR decisions using people analytics.
5. Culture, Employee Experience & Engagement
- Build a culture grounded in transparency, innovation, ownership, and speed.
- Strengthen employee engagement through continuous feedback systems and pulse surveys.
- Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives to create an inclusive and global tech culture.
6. Risk Management, Governance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with labor laws in multi-market or remote-first environments.
- Develop policies for hybrid/remote work, cybersecurity compliance for employees, and digital workplace standards.
- Provide regular updates to the CEO and Board regarding workforce health and HR impact.
Qualifications
- Bachelors in HR, Business, Organizational Psychology, or related fields; master's degree preferred.
- At least 12 years of HR leadership experience, ideally in technology, digital transformation, or high-growth environments.
- Proven success in scaling HR functions for fast-growing or tech-driven organizations.
- Strong understanding of tech talent markets, hiring strategies, and modern HR technology stacks.
- Excellent executive communication, influencing, and strategic thinking skills.
