About the Role

We are seeking a forward-thinking and hands-on HR Manager to help set up and scale our new operations in Vietnam. This is a start-up / scale-up role, ideal for someone experienced in working in South East Asia, who understands the local employment landscape and can navigate cultural and legal nuances with confidence.

The role will work closely with Asia MD to support the sourcing of immediate key hires, partnering with both regional and global teams. You will also be part of the wider Global People function, reporting into our UK-based CPO, and expected to help embed Company' culture, values and ways of working locally from day one.

Key Responsibilities

Start-up & Scaling Phase

  • Lead all HR activity for the set-up of the Vietnam site, ensuring full legal compliance
  • Actively partner with the Asia MD and Talent Acquisition to support recruitment of key early-stage hires
  • Advise on and manage local labour law, right-to-work checks, contracts and registration processes
  • Establish onboarding, HR documentation and policies aligned to global standards but locally fit for purpose
  • Work with in-country providers or RPOs where appropriate – experience in procuring and managing outsourced partners is required

Ongoing Responsibilities

  • Provide full HR generalist support across the employee lifecycle
  • Manage or oversee payroll operations – either in-house or via an outsourced provider; prior experience with payroll (not just oversight) is essential
  • Support the development and local adaptation of compensation, benefits and performance frameworks
  • Manage employee relations cases with professionalism, fairness, and local legal awareness
  • Support leadership in fostering a strong site culture aligned to global values
  • Collaborate with global HR peers to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing
  • Ensure accurate HR data, compliance and reporting standards are maintained

What We're Looking For

  • Proven HR leadership experience in South East Asia, ideally already based in Vietnam or familiar with the market
  • Strong understanding of Vietnamese labour law and compliance
  • Demonstrable experience of managing or delivering payroll – either directly or via a third party
  • Experience procuring and managing outsourced HR/RPO/payroll vendors
  • Strong track record in start-up or scale-up environments
  • Confident operating both strategically and operationally
  • Skilled in supporting the rollout of culture, values and behavioural frameworks across new or growing teams
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a global HR team
  • Fluent in Vietnamese with strong English communication skills (spoken and written)
