Brighter Path Scholarship Program Overview

Brighter Path scholarship program empowers the brightest disadvantaged rural ethnic minority girls in Vietnam by providing long-term scholarships, from 7 to 10 years, for high school and university education. The program integrates personal mentoring, life skills training, and education to help overcome cultural and socioeconomic barriers. By equipping girls with essential knowledge and leadership skills, Brighter Path enables them to complete their studies and become agents of positive change in their communities.

Position Overview

The Scholarship Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the Brighter Path scholarship program. This role requires a proactive and organized individual with a passion for education, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1 - Scholarship Program Management

  • Maintain accurate records of applicants, recipients, and alumni.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of scholarship program policies and procedures.
  • Plan and organize training sessions, empowerment workshops, and mentoring activities for scholarship recipients.
  • Liaise with educational institutions, donors, partners, universities, consultants, and volunteers for the program's activities.
  • Support the scholarship selection process, including but not limited to reviewing applications, coordinating with the selection committees, conducting the interviews with the applicants, organizing scholarship award ceremonies, and other related events.
  • Monitor and support scholarship recipients' academic progress.
  • Oversee mentorship activities between current and former scholarship recipients.
  • Provide support to scholars in learning English.
  • Coordinate the community projects with the scholarship recipients.
  • Prepare reports and impact assessments for internal and external stakeholders.

2 - Stakeholder Engagement & Communications

  • Act as the primary point of contact for scholarship inquiries.
  • Develop and disseminate digital content (newsletters, reports, updates, and tutorials) to update the related stakeholders on scholarship outcomes and program impact.
  • Support outreach campaigns to promote scholarship opportunities and program visibility

3 - Database management

  • Manage and regularly update the Brighter Path program database.

4 - Financial and Administrative Management

  • Monitor and track program expenditures to ensure compliance with the approved budget and donor requirements.
  • Assist in preparing proposals or financial documentation for additional funding opportunities.
  • Handle logistical and administrative tasks to ensure smooth implementation of program and training activities.

5 - Other Duties

  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Sciences, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in educational services or program coordination.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and effective time management.
  • Passion for educational equity and community development
  • Fluency in Vietnamese and English, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to travel frequently to remote provinces if required.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working with scholarship, mentoring programs, or grant programs;
  • Experience in program management or impact assessment in an INGO environment
  • Familiarity with data privacy and digital security best practices.
