Position Overview

The Business Development Specialist is responsible for driving enrollment growth through strong partnerships with education agents, international recruitment partners, and strategic organizations. The role focuses primarily on building and managing agency relationships (60%) while also contributing to admissions strategies, marketing coordination, and overall student recruitment operations (30%). The remaining workload (10%) includes administrative tasks, reporting, and cross-department collaboration to support the school's global expansion.

Key Responsibilities

A. Partnership Development & Agency Management (60%)

  • Identify, approach, and onboard new education agencies and recruitment partners in key markets.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with existing agency partners to ensure active engagement and performance.
  • Provide training, program updates, and marketing materials to partners to enhance their ability to recruit students effectively.
  • Negotiate partnership terms, commission structures, and collaboration agreements in alignment with school policies.
  • Conduct regular meetings, webinars, or workshops with agencies to strengthen communication and support.
  • Monitor partner performance, track conversion rates, and recommend improvements to maximize enrollment results.
  • Represent Van Houston School at education fairs, conferences, and recruitment events (virtual or in-person).

B. Admissions Strategy & Recruitment Support (30%)

  • Collaborate with the Admissions team to develop new ideas, initiatives, and campaigns to increase student applications.
  • Provide market insights and recommendations for improving admissions processes, communication flows, and requirements.
  • Support creation of admissions content: presentations, program brochures, FAQs, and student onboarding guides.
  • Assist in evaluating student applications when needed, ensuring a smooth admissions pipeline for agency-recruited students.
  • Coordinate with Marketing to tailor materials for specific markets or partner needs.

C. Other Duties & Internal Collaboration (10%)

  • Maintain accurate data on partners, performance, and student pipelines in CRM or reporting systems.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly business development reports for management.
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Academics, Student Services, and Finance to support overall recruitment operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the growth initiatives of Van Houston School.

3. Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Education, or a related field.

Minimum 2–4 years of experience in business development, student recruitment, or agency partnership management (preferably in the education sector).

Strong understanding of international education markets, especially K–12 or U.S. study pathways.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Ability to manage multiple markets and partners simultaneously.

Experience working with CRM systems is a plus.

Ability to travel domestically and internationally when required.

Self-driven, proactive, and comfortable working in a performance-oriented environment.
