**JOB OVERVIEW**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of robust data pipelines and ETL processes to support data integration and transformation.
- Manage and optimize databases using RDS and MSSQL, ensuring high performance, security, and availability.
- Leverage data warehousing solutions such as Vertica and Snowflake for optimal data storage, retrieval, and analytics.
- Develop and maintain data visualizations and dashboards using Tableau to provide actionable insights.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support data science initiatives and machine learning models.
- Implement and enforce best practices in data management, including data quality, data governance, and data security.
- Drive technical innovation and continuous improvement initiatives within the data engineering team.
- Ensure effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing clear and concise updates on project progress and challenges.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of data solutions.

**Additional Skills (Nice to Have)**:

- Experience with Apache Airflow for workflow management.
- Familiarity with Snowflake for data warehousing.
- Proficiency in Apache Spark and Scala for data processing.
- Experience with AWS EMR, ECS, Athena, and Glue for big data solutions.

**JOB QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- 7+ years of professional experience in data engineering and data management.
- Proven experience in a managerial or senior technical role.
- Strong expertise in RDS and MSSQL database administration and optimization.
- Hands-on experience with data warehousing solutions such as Vertica and Snowflake.
- Proficiency in developing data visualizations and dashboards using Tableau.
- Solid understanding of data management best practices, including ETL processes, data quality, and data governance.
- Experience with data science tools and techniques, including machine learning and statistical analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor data engineering teams, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
