We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us as a Trading Assistant to work in a truly global environment. The role provides long term potential for someone eager to demonstrate their skills and experience in a challenging and fast paced soft commodities environment.

You will join a world leading trader of agricultural commodities within a wholly owned subsidiary of our Coffee Trading Division - VOLCAFE. VOLCAFE Ltd. is one of the world’s leading international green coffee trading companies with its head office in Winterthur, Switzerland, operating in over 20 countries globally, in coffee procurement, sustainability, blending and export as well as importing and distribution, and it supplies the world’s major coffee roasters and retail distributors with their green coffee requirements, with significant strategic growth ambitions for the future.

Volcafe has built and operated certified, sustainable supply chains across all our origins, addressing key economic, social and environmental issues in coffee farming communities. Since 2014 Volcafe has been providing direct technical assistance to farmers, helping them to improve their coffee quality, farm productivity and yields via our Volcafe Way Farmer Support Organizations (FSOs).

Responsibilities to include, but are not limited to:

- Position checking and reconciliation
- Place stoploss (GTC) orders and update reports
- Instruct fixations and AAs
- Follow up commercial contracts with deliveries for local sales
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure samples, shipment documentation and payments are executed as per contractual agreements
- Make traceability announcements for sustainable supply chain lots
- Purchase and sales allocation in the system
- Other tasks assigned by managers

Skills and Expertise
- Experience of the coffee industry or other soft commodities is preferable, ideally as a trading assistant or similar
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good level of written and spoken English
- An understating of the coffee grades and qualities from Vietnam preferred
- Honest, hardworking and fast learning
- Good computer skills (Excel) essential and knowledge of VBA would be an advantage
