**Head of Business Development, Vietnam**

**Location**:Hanoi, Vietnam

As the business development lead in-country, you will be responsible for driving deal origination, transaction management, deal structuring, business, and financial diligence, arranging debt and equity financing and market analysis. You will be expected to contribute as a senior member of a highly effective in-country project team, and have the opportunity to lead and manage the business development team in closing the acquisitions, completing development and managing the sell-down of projects and companies in the renewable energy sector. You will work with the Investment Director and other central teams to get support and internal approvals for transactions.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Origination, due diligence, approval and financing of renewable energy projects, portfolios, development joint ventures and companies
- Drive the origination of a pipeline of renewable energy projects and screening of investment opportunities
- Leverage your deep understanding of Vietnamese renewables market including trends, market participants, precedent transactions, and opportunities; and review of strategy to fit environment Manage the project development and acquisition transactions to conduct necessary due diligence, financial modelling, risk analysis and mitigation in the structuring of complex acquisitions, developments and/or project financing transactions.
- Commercial review and negotiation of term sheets and contracts, including acquisitions agreements, shareholder agreements, joint development partnerships, MoUs, and assist in commercial review of power purchase agreements (PPAs), leases, EPC contract and O&M agreements.
- Assist the investment team in internal approval (including analysis and assessment of relevant opportunities) to reach investment decisions in consultation with the Development Director and leadership team
- Presentation of deal pipeline and transaction details to the leadership team and Board for review and approval
- Oversee regular reporting activities for internal progress management purposes as well as updating the leadership team on the ongoing deals pipeline and expected timeframes of reaching key milestones
- Develop and leverage your deep network of professional relationships including key external stakeholders (e.g. financial, legal, and commercial advisers), relevant regulatory agencies and industry participants

**Position Skills and Qualifications**
- Degree or post graduate qualification in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Actuarial or similar level commercial or technical discipline
- At least 12 years relevant commercial and business development experience, with a background in the renewable energy sector
- Possess strong quantitative and analytical skills to be able to review financial analysis, valuation and forecasting
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Teams).
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership and relationship management skills specially at the senior management level.
- Excellent written and conversational English as well as ability to communicate with key internal and external stakeholders in Vietnamese
