**Job Description**:
PURPOSE OF THE JOB

This would be an individual contributor role and the person is expected to work with minimum supervision and with various stake holders located at different subsidiaries of 3M.

- New Product Introduction & Field Evaluations:_

Work closely with key customers to understand the customer voices, insights and network with global AE team to work on new product ideas. Act as a connect between 3M technologies & solutions to future customer requirements, support 3M new product introductions by field trials, evaluations & data generation. Bridge 3M product development team to customer insights through VOC, QFD, FMEA etc, to provide new product ideas and support to build new product pipeline, support in drafting specifications for new products, adhere to 3M systems for new product introduction scheme, etc.
- Leading & Influencing:_

Role of industry expert, influencing industry specifications and regulations, work with electronic design companies, membership in various relevant forums, regulatory bodies and other industrial organizations, participate and present papers in seminars/ conferences, publish articles in journals and industry magazines etc.
- Competitive Intelligence & _Complaint Handling:_

Competition benchmarking, exploratory studies of competition products for proper product positioning, generate data on competition products, develop competitive intelligence in terms of their market presence, new products, strategies and formulate counter strategies etc. in line with corporate compliance guidelines.
- Specification & Technical Database Management:_
- Business Support:_

Participate in business planning and make strategic technical plans to support business, help to create demo tools, sales tools, technical verification of marketing collaterals and other documents, VOM & VOC surveys, support portfolio planning etc. Work with marketing and take lead role for tech driven programs for business growth.
- Lab Management:_

Develop lab infrastructure to support business plans, plan for equipment's, inputs for lab capex planning, work with engineering for procurement of equipment by providing right specifications, quotes, reviewing vendor etc., Plan, procure & maintain samples, PPEs and necessary tools for the lab work, adhere to lab safety etc. Conduct lab evaluations for customer substrates, competition bench marking, product evaluations and generate technical reports.
- Intellectual Property:_

Contribute to 3M’s IP, recording lab activities, filing new inventions as and when required, adhere to 3M corporate Intellectual property methods and guidelines etc.
- Training:_

Provide training to 3M Internal sales and marketing team, new joins, distributers, online training, field / shop floor training to customer for proper use of 3M solutions, preparing training calendar and training modules, feedback and other documentations etc. Devise ways to use e-tools to help the sales team to improve productivity.
- Direct Sales Support:_

Provide technical support to sales and marketing team, explore opportunities in identified market segments, product recommendations, key account management, provide technical documentation, SOPs, trial reports etc. Network with other 3M subs and act as reservoir of technical information to the business team.
- Code of Conduct & Compliance:_

Drive and ensure strict adherence to the defined 3M Code of Business Conduct, conforming to all 3M & local financial and administrative systems, adhere to lab working and EHS norms, Compliance with all statutory and regulatory norms, Ensuring effective and commercially appropriate trade agreements and contracts etc.

JOB PROFILE:

- PhD / MTech/ BTech with Polymer/ Materials/ Physics/ Electronics background
- Minimum 5 years of experience preferably with electronics industry/ suppliers to electronics OEMs, good understanding of consumer electronics industry, processes and related supply chain.
- Ability to handle Chinese & Korean languages is a big plus.
- Strong technical attitude coupled with business acumen, good analytical, presentation, written & oral communication skills etc.
- Comfortable in handling testing equipment's, and analytical instruments.
- Good understanding about IP protocols and procedures
- Should be a team player, able to plan & work independently with minimum supervision.
- Should be able to network effectively and efficiently with internal and external customers and should have good key account management skills.
