**Duties**:
Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following:

- As the Senior Casualty Resolution Specialist (CRS) in Southeast Asia, provides guidance and coordination to the other Detachments (DET 1-Bangkok, DET 3-Vientiane), primarily concerning unresolved cases in which SRV military personnel or other SRV witnesses were known to be involved.
- Provides analysis, background, procedural courses of action and case information directly to State and DoD offices/personnel in response to senior level USG officials and congressional delegations involved in the POW/MIA issue.
- Coordinates authoritatively, professionally, and decisively with senior regional government officials and senior representatives of both host country and international organizations to maintain an awareness level conducive to expediting the collection, production, and dissemination of casualty related information.
- Maintains liaison with U.S. and foreign diplomatic elements and other U.S. agencies of POW/MIA and CR interest to ensure exchange of information concerning unaccounted for Americans.
- Ensures effective communication and information exchanges during official venues where such interpreting duties are required.

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment
- Required to participate in the direct deposit program
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain SECRET security clearance
- Incumbent is required to take a pre-employment and annual physical examination (Parts I and II) and must be physically qualified for the position
- Incumbent will be required to travel away from the normal duty station for official business on military or commercial aircraft
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government passport for overseas travel applicable VISA's as pertains to the country requirements
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a current US driver's license
- Incumbent shall comply with all DoD, WHS, and DPAA directives, instructions, orders, policies, and regulations
- Incumbent must be able to pass the Foreign Language Proficiency Test with at least a Level 3 R/L/for host nation target language needed in the foreign area duty station, and must maintain this level of proficiency

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your experience in:
**(1) Preparing and presenting detailed logistics including personnel and equipment movement by air/ground/water and base camp establishment in remote environments;**

**(2) Serving as an interpreter for formal negotiations;**

**(3) Accurately translating casualty resolutions textual material, news, articles, and technical documents between English and the host nation language; AND**

**(4) Conducting interviews unassisted by indigenous interpreters.**

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.-
