**What's the job about?**

As the Payroll Specialist, reporting to our Payroll Manager, you have an exciting opportunity to process a global payroll for approximately 180 employees, in partnership with outsourcing providers.

Our employees are located in various countries including Australia, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, the United States (California, Chicago, and Rhode Island), South Africa, and Vietnam.

Your strong attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, and ability to effectively convey complex situations in general terms will shine as you deliver each payroll accurately and on time.

You will skillfully answer and resolve payroll queries, produce payroll-related calculations, generate leave reconciliations, prepare monthly payroll journals, and assist with other finance tasks as required while ensuring clear and concise communication with stakeholders at all levels.

**Some of the key activities of this role include**:

- Work with Outsource Providers to prepare Semi-Monthly and Monthly Payrolls end-to-end in Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, the Netherlands, Vietnam, and South Africa (180 employees globally)
- Third party payments, including preparing, balancing and reconciling payroll tax (multiple Australian states) and superannuation
- Prepare and pay ad hoc/off-cycle payrolls as required
- Interpretation of legislation, awards, and employment contracts
- Answer and resolve payroll queries, and provide accurate and consistent advice to managers and staff on conditions of service, entitlements, and policy according to relevant agreements, including salary, leave, allowances, deductions and superannuation.
- Assisting in the calculation of special payments or preparation of reports and audits as required
- Ad hoc reporting for internal and external stakeholders
- Maintaining Payroll and HR systems to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance with policies and procedures
- Preparing and processing all related journals and completing monthly general ledger reconciliations

**We’d love to hear from you if you**:

- have a high level of proficiency in both spoken and written English. The ability to effectively communicate in English is essential for success in this role
- have relevant experience in an AU payroll function (experience in United Kingdom, United States, The Netherlands, South Africa, or Vietnam) highly regarded; or relevant accounting background
- can demonstrate your understanding of payroll end-to-end process including, but not limited to: new hires, transfers, terminations, payroll processing, adjustments, overpayment recovery, leave and finance reconciliations
- have high attention to detail and low error rate
- are deadline driven, and have the ability to manage changes in priorities and opportunities
- possess strong knowledge of legislative requirements and benefits (super, pension, 401K, etc)
- have advanced Excel skills

**Desirable**
- are certified by Australian Payroll Association or The Association of Payroll Specialists
