Damen Song Cam Shipyard Co., Ltd (DSCS) is a joint venture between Damen Workboats in the Netherlands (70%) and Song Cam Shipyard (30%), member of SBIC and based in Haiphong, Vietnam. At a 42 hectares site just outside Haiphong, Damen Song Cam is a strategic and preferred production location within the Damen Workboats to produce tug
- and workboats up to 60 meters. At the moment the shipyard is a dedicated outfitting shipyard: up to 40 hulls are procured from our partner shipyards. DSCS is performing outfitting, commissioning and delivery to clients worldwide. The strategy to grow is successful. Growth in volume, expanding the product portfolio, expanding other maritime activities (services, supervision) within the group. The Custom Department has the responsibility to develop a reliable local and international supplier network able to ensure all necessary materials, installations, semi-finished products, main product components, capital goods and subcontractors are available at the right time and place within allocated budget. Customs department have the responsibility to work in compliance with Vietnam legal requirements, laws, rules and regulation in respect of import - export of goods.
**THE ROLE**:
Customs Manager is responsible for managing and leading the customs team to achieve target of the team in import and export activities in DSCS.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
- 1. Functional:
- Manage and control the import/ export job of company.
- Set up and implement the target, policy, procedure of Custom department and company.
- Instruct and supervise the finance activity and budget of Custom department.
- Monitor and evaluate contract, purchase order, custom documents.
- Build up the plan, implement and manage the import/ export procedure.
- Sort and widen the import/ export agents/ suppliers.
- Have good connection with custom to clear all shipment.
- Discuss or instruct team members to discuss on price, deliver condition, payment, packing condition for import/ export goods.
- Co-ordinate with Planning department to set up the proper import plan.
- Instruct and solve all the issue happening in import/ export.
- Report the import/ export job to Director monthly/ quarterly.
- Consult to Director, Technical Manager, employee and other department on custom job.
2. Finance control:
- Control cost to be save at job, find the way to improve the effectiveness of employees.
- 3. Managing:
- Build up and implement the job plan of custom department.
- Arrange job, train employee, manage and supervise employee and job, evaluate employee’s effectiveness.
4. Other tasks: To be assigned by director
