BACKGROUND


The purpose of this role is to advance research activity at RMIT Vietnam, and also to increase RMIT University's cohort of offshore Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students.

The initiative is a combined Doctoral/Teaching Fellowship program is available to talented female graduates in STEMM in Vietnam. This forms the first of our

Athena SWAN


initiatives at RMIT Vietnam, with the objective of increasing women's participation in STEMM and providing a pathway for women into academia and then into senior leadership positions.


Subject to satisfactory completion of the PhD qualification and excellence in their teaching and learning activities, Fellows will be offered a full-time fixed term position as a member of academic staff at RMIT Vietnam, upon completion.


The Doctoral Research Fellow will be required to teach and conduct classes in a discipline relevant to their field of expertise and contribute to the academic, administrative, consultative and coordination tasks required for these courses.

Functions associated with the position include presentation of lectures and tutorials, assessment of students and course administration in line with the University's quality assurance requirements.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA- A master's degree in electrical & Computer System, Robotics & Mechatronics/Aviation or other aligned field e.g., mathematics) from a highly respected Vietnamese University or International University)- Industry experience in a relevant field and/or a teaching background in your specialist field within the tertiary sector as an Associate Lecturer and/or Research Assistant from a respected University/Research Institution in Vietnam.- Demonstrated ability to prepare and teach programs at undergraduate level, including online delivery.- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively and sensitively with students, especially on issues related to effective learning.- Ability to work autonomously and as a team player, including ability to confidently and effectively work with colleagues, project team leaders, and industry partners.- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage varying workloads and respond to changing priorities as required.- High level written and verbal communication skills in English, to address complex problems and relevant activities.- Recent performance in contributing to student outcomes, enhancing student experience and receiving positive feedback; combined with experience and skill in a teaching setting.
