The Lecturer will work closely with the Program Manager in leading the redesign and teaching within the Graduate Certificate in Digital Tertiary Learning and Teaching program (GCDL&T).
The Lecturer is expected to work with the L&T Unit in translating and implementing the recommendations from the 2021 comprehensive program review, with the aim of revitalising the program so it speaks to the cutting-edge knowledge of teaching and learning in a digital context.
The lecturer will also actively promote the value proposition of the program within RMIT University.The Lecturer is expected to work collaboratively and collegially with the Program Manager and fellow professional and academic colleagues within the L&T team and to maintain and advance their scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities.
The Lecturer will have course coordination responsibilities.
The Graduate Certificate of Digital Tertiary Learning and Teaching (GCDL&T) will be designed to improve learning and teaching practice for tertiary teachers at RMIT University and to equip them to facilitate technologically enhanced learning in the Higher Education sector.
The program provides opportunities for educators to explore issues in tertiary learning and teaching, course design, assessment and creative problem-solving in the context of current and emerging professional practice.
The GCDL&T has recently undergone a comprehensive program review and the lecturer employed would be closely involved in the significant redevelopment of the program.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Redevelop the GCDL&T program, including course design, content and assessments in line with recommendations from the comprehensive program review.
- Work in a codesign capacity with the Online Learning team to develop the course for effective online delivery in Canvas.
- Undertake independent teaching at postgraduate level including designing, conducting and moderating assessment; implementing improvements informed by course evaluation activities and student feedback.
- Undertake independent professional activities, scholarship and/or conduct high quality research activities as they relate to the development or teaching of the GCDL&T program.
- Undertake administration duties, which include course coordination role of the program.
- Adhere to the requirements of the Academic Expectations and Development Framework of RMIT Vietnam.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
- PhD or equivalent relevant Doctoral qualification
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver programs at postgraduate level, including online (synchronous and asynchronous) delivery, and the ability to produce high quality curriculum or program materials.
- Ability to undertake course coordination role.
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning.
