Job Description

  • Install, configure, and maintain MySQL/PostgreSQL and MongoDB database systems.

  • Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries and indexes.

  • Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies.

  • Ensure database security, access control, and data integrity.

  • Perform regular database upgrades, patches, and migrations.

  • Collaborate with developers to optimize database schema and support application performance.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including database standards and procedures.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents in a timely manner.

  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide support for production environments

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL administration.

  • Strong knowledge of database architecture, replication, clustering, and sharding.

  • Proficient in SQL query tuning and performance optimization techniques.

  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Percona Toolkit).

  • Solid understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems.

  • Experience with automation/scripting (Bash, Python, Ansible) is a plus.

  • Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, MongoDB Atlas) is an advantage.
