Position Overview
Details of the Division and Team:
The position is under Vietnam Corporate Banking Branch Operations to handle daily activities of Securities Operations unit. The job holder is required to have strong interpersonal skills and a team player with capabilities of driving initiatives, projects, new developments and to coordinate with Regional Operations Management in establishing and maintaining internal controls and guidelines/governance. Strong understanding of Compliance, Audit, Regulatory & Operational Risk is a must.

Your key responsibilities:
Broad Operations Ownership & Accountability
- Manage Securities Operations staff to meet customer service standards, internal and external cut off times, retention of customer files, reporting, reconciliation and reviewing of processed/outstanding transactions
- Accountable for delivering the annual branch operations plans and key metrics/targets
- Manage and ensure compliance with, internal policies and audit and regulatory requirements
- Support and achieve excellent partnership with Sales, Product Management and other business partners e.g. Account Management Service or IT to meet operational objectives set by Sales and Regional Ops Management
- Train, coach and identify potential staff for succession and key operational functions; provide cross training and job rotation opportunities
- Streamline objectives for efficient and effective branch operations to ensure compliance with
- cost management, regulatory, audit and DB policies/guidelines
- Establish clear operating processes, controls, operating manuals and Key Operating Procedures for existing/new products and services, new systems/systems upgrade
Supporting Business & Client Experience Via Service Quality
- Build good relationship and communicate effectively with Business
- Work with Sales/Product Managers to support cross-selling of products to customers; understand needs of customer by industry for effective support
- Represent Operations in reviewing New Product Approval & Sales Proposal (Pre-mandate)
- Work with Implementation & Services on front-to-back customer onboarding & delivery
- Establish jointly with Sales/Product Managers competitive service level
- Ensure consistent and quality service delivery to clients or partners
Front-to-Back Operational Oversight
- Manage and Supervise day to day ("Run The Bank") operations to meet annual objectives/targets
- Manage the end-to-end when operationalising the processes & controls including working with the Operation Hubs, Technology and/or Vendors
- Review, identify and make organizational changes/staff responsibilities to meet demands/ changes in market/industry practices/regulatory
- Maintain updates on global banking practices to ensure DB is in position to make appropriate adjustments/changes
- Maintain close and active relationship with IT/Sales/Product Management to review systems/processing to achieve efficiency, productivity and cost saving, customer satisfaction
- Manage Customer/Sales expectations within internal policies and guidelines
- Maintain clear independence from Sales in decision making and escalate issues to next level management in event of conflict.
Operational Risk and Controls Management
- Manage operational processes within internal/external audit guidelines and policies.
- Manage accounting policies and reporting requirements within approved guidelines/policies
- Maintain operating standards with agreed/zero loss provision
- Plan and manage effective Business Continuity Procedure processes within Business Continuity Management guidelines. Will be key decision maker as part of the Crisis Management Team
- Meet operational/compliance requirements including adopting best practices & ensuring a consistency in delivering a regional operating model
- Implement appropriate procedures and controls including proper accounting/reporting requirements in support of new product/sales initiatives
- Lead in Incident Management and timely Escalations to Country & Regional Management
- Timely resolutions of incidents, audit remediations, reporting and regulatory-driven initiatives
- Institute a strong Risk Culture across with the teams, stakeholders and external partners/vendors
Operations Leadership & Accountabilities
- Supervise & manage Securities Operations department from a local perspective
- Coordinate with the product managers & Regional Ops Management in establishing and maintaining the internal controls and guidelines. Attending Regional Risk & Control meeting in the as representative of Branch Operations
- Support Head of CB Branch Operations on implementation of Global/Regional Operations Strategy; aligning overall planned initiatives with country management & key stakeholders
- Work closely with Head of CB Branch Operations, COO in supporting the Risk & Control Framework, Country Initiatives & Transformation Projects (Regional & Local)
- Support the Head of CB Branch Operations to coordinate the one Branch Model & All aspects of Control in the Securities Operations
- Maintain end-to-end operational oversights by working closely with Delivery Hubs & Vendors
- Keep track of the local regulations and ensure implementation as necessary
- Groom and guide talented staff and help in creating backups and career progression
- Take charge and steer engagements during internal and external regulatory audits.
- Actively support diversity and contribute to Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) activities
People Management
- Direct management of Securities Operations staffs
- Develop, sustain and retain key talents or performers
- Establish a robust team to provide effective cross support, including building SMEs
- Maintain high overall staff engagements (rating above average to other divisions) with clear communication plans & staff work life balance initiatives
- Effective delegating, planning and time management skills to meet strict deadlines and team objectives
Your skills and experience:
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team player
- Should possess professional qualification
- Should communicate clearly, have good presentation skills.
- Have at least 10 years of Operation Management experience; with at least 7 years in a supervisory/managerial position in Securities Operations
- Have the capability of driving initiatives, projects, new developments & generate ideations
- Have a strong understanding of Compliance, Audit, Regulatory & Operational risk
- Self-driven and keen on change for better mindset
- Possess good people management skills and interpersonal skills
- Strong skills in Microsoft software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) & Sharepoint is a plus
- Ability to manage exceptions, solution oriented and has a positive frame of mind to look at the big picture
- Working knowledge of operational toolkit such as Python, Digital Process Automation (Alteryx)
- Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, Business Administration
- Master's degree is a plus
- Good competence in written and spoken English and Vietnamese communication skills
