Acts as a Medical Lead (Oncology) who drives a clear vision, strategy and expectations for the introduction of GSKs Oncology portfolio in Vietnam. This role is internally referred to as 'Medical Affairs Manager Lead'. To ensure the optimal development and execution of Oncology TA strategies through internal and external engagements across the life cycle of GSK brands from preauthorization to post launch. 

Lead the development, implementation & monitoring of Oncology Medical Affairs plans. Drive excellence in external expert engagement via deep understanding of the therapy area to lead impactful engagements, including congresses, stand-alone meetings, medical education, advisory boards, scientific communications and publications. Interacts with a variety of global, regional and local departments such as marketing, commercial, legal, finance, compliance and regulatory. External co-operation with relevant national advisory boards, KEEs, payers, industry associations, HCOs and HCPs is required. Ensuring compliance in all non-promotional activities with local laws, regulations, GSK standards and Scientific Engagement. Lead and drive the performance of your team, setting the business objectives and priorities that ensure delivery of the Medical Affairs plans & metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of the strategic medical Brand/portfolio strategy, Market research, HCO & HCP strategy and development of Scientific and Patient Engagement strategies by close collaboration with the marketing, commercial and market access functions to ensure GSK prominence in the market.

  • Drives the delivery of all Oncology Medical strategic and operational plans and activities including early access plans and the appropriate educational programs pre-authorization, for the appropriate usage of medicines (e.g., medical education, regulatory/payor discussions, insight and evidence gen/ data analysis, congress strategy) to agreed timelines, budget, and quality standards in alignment with internal Policies/ Standards and external regulations. Plans and actively follows medical budget for the related products.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with Key External Experts (KEEs) and medical associations and communities to understand the competitive environment and the local health system landscape e.g., hospital executives, health system directors, doctors, researchers and to create advocates for the products as well as planning and driving scientific engagement activities (i.e. Advisory Board, Scientific Workshop, Expert meeting etc.)

  • To provide strong technical, medical information to GSK's interaction with external experts and Stakeholders. Verify and consolidate the gathered insights to assist in the development and execution of innovative Medical Affairs strategies and plans that clearly support GSK development of medicines of value for patients & HCPs. Develop and reinforce the external scientific standing and credibility of GSK products among HCP and EE(s) by scientific engagement including attending local and international congresses.

  • Ensure excellence in execution of all governance processes, including oversight of all studies, medical information, scientific engagement and promotional practices (if required) particularly in pre-authorization.

  • Keep up to date medical literature/information on the oncology therapeutic area, competitor products and related scientific and clinical trial data for communication to ensure relevant consolidated medical insights are effectively and appropriately shared across the business and strongly represent the medical voice of the external experts and the patients.

  • Identify evidence gaps and generate local data that would support faster market penetration of strategic products. Identify opportunities to engage in GSK R&D clinical studies

  • Support regulatory & Market access teams to ensure timely registration, development of assets value propositions and support access plans.

  • The language and activities of the Oncology Head must always reflect the medical nature of the role, be fair, balanced, non-promotional, scientific and evidence based while ensuring full compliance with GSK Code, SOPs, local laws & regulations

  • Provide medical input for GSK products to be included in the reimbursement list, following up the current situation and actively participating in the action plans.

  • Report Adverse Events in compliance with local regulations and existing GSK procedures

Qualifications:

  • Medical or Pharmacy University graduate  

  • Medical graduate with specialist post-graduate degree is preferred

  • Good understanding of Vietnam medical practice  

  • Minimum 10 years of Working experience in pharmaceutical industry

  • Proficiency in spoken & written English  

  • Proficiency in MS Office/Computer  

  • Strong sense of ethics, integrity and commitment  

  • Good communication, influent & impact and presentation skills
