What you'll do:
As Plant Manager, you will be entrusted with overseeing the full spectrum of plant operations from production management through process improvement to human resources development. Your daily responsibilities will involve collaborating with various department heads to ensure seamless workflow across production planning, material control, maintenance, shipping, and safety management. You will champion best practices in lean manufacturing while driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance both efficiency and product quality. - Develop and implement plans for optimal utilisation of materials, labour, and equipment to consistently meet production targets while maintaining flexibility.
- Continuously monitor production costs by investigating variances and analysing data to identify areas for improvement.
- Implement lean manufacturing processes and foster a culture of continuous improvement throughout the plant.
- Maximise resources by introducing productivity enhancements that result in cost-effective operations without compromising quality.
- Review production schedules and shipment timelines regularly to ensure alignment with customer requirements and statutory regulations.
- Coordinate closely with sales, purchasing, engineering, and other departments to prioritise production needs and guide planning efforts.
- Maintain compliance with ISO 9000 and other relevant quality systems by monitoring reports and initiating actions to minimise cost of quality.
- Lead process analysis initiatives aimed at optimising cycle times, reducing costs, improving material utilisation, and enhancing operational reliability.
