Job description

We are looking for a business-savvy Data Analyst to act as a strategic partner to our Merchandise & Category team. In this role, you will move beyond simple reporting to provide deep diagnostic analysis and prescriptive recommendations. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing assortment planning, inventory health, and supplier performance, directly influencing the bottom line (Gross Margin & GMV).

What you will do

  • Partner with Category Managers and Business Leaders to identify growth opportunities and risks within specific product categories.
  • Design and manage a comprehensive set of KPIs to evaluate category health (including Sales, Gross Margin, Inventory Turnover, Sell-through rate, and Aging)
  • Analyze supplier performance to support sourcing strategies.
  • Conduct exploratory and deep-dive analysis to uncover sales patterns, product opportunities, and operational bottlenecks.
  • Translate insights into actionable recommendations for Merchandise & Category team, growth initiatives.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and BI systems for performance tracking and decision support.
Your skills and experience
  • 2+ years of experience as a Data Analyst / BI Analyst / Category Analyst.
  • Experience in Retail, E-commerce, or FMCG sectors is a plus.
  • SQL: Strong proficiency in writing queries to extract and manipulate data is mandatory.
  • Excel/Google Sheets: Advanced skills (Pivot Tables, Power Query, complex formulas) for quick ad-hoc analysis.
  • Experience with BI tools (Superset, Metabase, Tableau, Grafana, Power BI, Looker, etc.).
  • Ability to transform complex data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Strong product thinking and curiosity — able to ask the right questions, explore the unknown, and connect data.
  • Strong communication and storytelling — able to consult and influence business decisions through data.
  • Ownership mindset, growth-oriented, and comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
