Backend Engineer

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing our backend infrastructure. You will be responsible for building scalable APIs, architecting distributed systems, and ensuring the performance, reliability, and security of our platforms. This role requires expertise in backend development, cloud-based architectures, and large-scale data processing. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, maintainable, and efficient backend services that support a growing user base.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable backend systems to support high-performance applications.
• Build and optimize APIs and microservices for seamless integration across multiple platforms.
• Ensure system reliability and scalability by implementing best practices in software architecture and cloud infrastructure.
• Implement robust authentication, authorization, and security mechanisms to protect sensitive data.
• Work with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) to deploy and manage backend services.
• Optimize database performance for large-scale applications, working with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Implement event-driven architectures and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Pub/Sub).
• Monitor and improve system performance, scalability, and fault tolerance through logging, monitoring, and performance profiling.
• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver seamless and efficient user experiences.
• Stay updated with the latest backend technologies and best practices to enhance system performance and maintainability.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of backend development experience, with expertise in building scalable and distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in backend programming languages, including Python, JavaScript, Java or Golang.
• Experience with database design and optimization, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Redis.
• Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and security best practices in backend development.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps workflows, and infrastructure automation.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub).
• Familiarity with distributed computing and microservices design patterns.
• Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Knowledge of performance optimization techniques for high-traffic systems.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Contributions to enterprise-grade backend development.
