**Chief Accountant, Vietnam - Global Payment** - Ho Chi Minh City Regular - Corporate Function / Support Job ID: A171356 **Responsibilities** About the team In line with Bytedance's globalization plans, there has been an increasing demand for payment services and financial services such as BNPL to: (1) enhance and support our current business needs; and (2) increase our service offerings to the end user. As such, the need for payment services has gradually increased in our overseas business development strategy. Whether it's paying money to creators/users to encourage user growth, or offering paid services to users, payments have become an important step in our integrated service offerings. In order to facilitate and provide such services, Global Payments ("GP") was set up. GP is supported by a group of payments licensed entities which are subsidiaries under Bytedance Ltd. Responsibilities - Implement and monitor the safeguarding of customers funds in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and oversee reconciliation process and procedures - Partner up with Group accounting, treasury and finance teams to periodically review and update major policies and estimates - Partner up with group accounting and reporting team, review financial statements and other related information for external use (audit, submission to regulators, etc.), and play a leading role in external communication as the representative of the Finance department - Partner up with treasury team for cash management of business - Identify areas for improvement in financial processes and systems and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness - Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and other relevant regulations - Manages relationships with banking partners, external auditors, and other global finance colleagues **Qualifications** Minimum Qualifications - 5+ years of working experience as a finance professional at a Vietnam payment/e-money institution, bank or fintech operating within a global business. - Previously worked as a chief accountant and dealt directly with Vietnam regulators - Ability to manage P&L performance (revenue and operating margin) including sales performance, transfer pricing, direct and demand-driven costs to budget and overseeing budget setting across the company - VACPA holder Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor degree (or an equivalent professional qualification) or above in accounting, finance or a related field - Ability to communicate complex matters in a simple and clear manner. - Experience in corporate treasury and building finance functions from ground zero - Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. **Job Information** About Us - Founded in 2012, ByteDance's mission is to inspire creativity and enrich life.
