Technical Specialist

As a Technical Specialist, you ensure Arc’teryx brand integrity through global maintenance of product construction standards, best production practices and quality standards across all product categories and locations of manufacture.

**Meet Your Future Team**:
You will be working on a cross-functional team of experts responsible for the quality control, assurance, and compliance of our raw materials and finished goods. Our local Quality Control (QC) Team interfaces heavily with the Hong-Kong based Sourcing and Quality teams, and you will have the opportunity to partner directly with these teams to achieve quality finished goods that meet the highest quality standards in technical apparel product.

Please note that this role is based out of multiple factories in Nam Định.

**If you were the Technical Specialist now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing**:

- Collaborating closely with the Quality teams and other stakeholders
- Acting as a consultant for vendors and Quality teams to help resolve quality issues; performing root cause investigation and auditing vendor processes and equipment as required
- Reporting regularly on activities, ongoing technical programs and investigations
- Supporting Quality Management teams in enforcing quality standards for finished goods and raw materials, with focus on preventative action pre-production
- Providing training and technical expertise to factory employees, sharing best practices in Arc’teryx construction methods and quality standards for all product categories
- Ensuring all factories observe efficient and cost-effective methods, best manufacturing practices, and safety standards to support cost reduction, safety compliance, and increased quality of finished product
- Preparing and leading regular technical sewing and lamination workshops for external specialists from designated vendors to update new developments and techniques
- Assessing and regularly reporting on factory progress and adherence to known Arc’teryx manufacturing principals

- Collaborating with Design and Development teams in direct development programs
- Participating in production transitioning projects
- Performing vendor capability assessments as an element of our upcoming revised vendor qualification program

**Are you our next Technical Specialist?**:

- You have a post-secondary degree in garment manufacturing or têxtiles
- You have 5+ years of experience in production and manufacturing within the apparel or outdoor hardgoods industry
- You have a strong understanding of the Microsoft Office suite
- You possess a superior knowledge of apparel construction and material construction and properties
- You are an expert in manufacturing best-practices
- You have excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
- You are fluent in written and spoken English
- You are able to travel as required
- You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
- You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
- You are able to balance autonomy and collaboration
- You seek the best (but sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
- You are an expert at balancing competing interests and priorities within strict time constraints
- You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
