**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
**1. Produce commercial and timely research to provide quality, market leading output**
- Work macro team members, sales, equity analysts and related parties to deliver timely and valuable macroeconomic research and new sector ideas and any impacts on related stocks by:

- Initiating new macro or sector trend as opportunities arise.
- Writing macro notes to provide in depth analysis.
- Writing macro alerts, macro updates etc.
- Coming up with a strong, coherent, commercial, view.
- Pitching ideas directly to clients and sales.
- Provide consistent and ongoing follow-up for significant macro and policy events - this means:
+ Writing regular updates in macro notes, in depth research and macro alerts.
+ Ensuring recommendation related to sectors or stocks.
+ Ensuring models and data remain up to date
+ Consistent dialogue with policy makers.
+ Keeping up with monthly trade, FDI, CPI results.
- Provide macro-economic analysis on reported data and for providing forecasts three years out on key economic data.

**2. Engage effectively with the client base**
- Direct client contact.
- Deal with direct research requests from clients.
- Respond to indirect client requests via sales.
- Undertake company visits with clients related to macro picture, according to bottom-up approach.
- Undertake presentations with clients at their offices or online.
- Make keynote presentations at HSC conferences and other conferences per requests from clients.
- Act as moderators for HSC or at our client conferences.

**3. Make productive and commercial relationships with all clients, both internal and**
- Research is responsible for providing updated and commercial research ideas to our sales team of Institutional Client Division to broke.
- Collaborate with Corporate Finance Division to:

- Supply with leads.
- Understand the macro, top down or bottom-up insights into potential deal structures.
- Provide an independent valuation of the sectors as appropriate.
- Publish independent research as required, for sector related to a potential IPO.
- Work with the retail platform by delivering and translating research in a timely fashion and all reasonable requests are met.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**:
**1. Education level**
- Bachelor’s degree level at a minimum.
- CFA qualification is preferrable.

**2. Knowledge & Experience**
- Excellent knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a related field, with macroeconomics research experience required.

**3. Technical skills**
- Modelling and valuation techniques.
- Ability to convey complex ideas to a diverse client base, sales, and junior staffs.
- Ability to manage upwards as well as downwards without confrontation.
- People management and conflict resolution skills.
- Effective strategic thinking
- Effective business management, budgets etc.
- Writing and presenting effectively in English & Vietnamese.

**4. Soft skills**
- Effective time management
- Self-motivated and focused
- Able to show respect and patience to colleagues
- A high level of flexibility in times of stress and pressure
