British International School Hanoi is seeking a warm and welcoming leader for our families and staff and a strong communicator who is able to develop positive relationships throughout the wider community. The successful applicant will report directly to the Principal and lead the day to day management and organisation of the Primary section as well as overseeing its continued growth and development. The Head of Primary is supported by a Deputy Head and an Assistant Head forming the Primary Leadership Team (PLT). Additionally, there is a dedicated team of Middle Leaders who are responsible for the detailed aspects of the curriculum and various activities involving staff, students, and parents. We’ll look to you to provide effective leadership and advice to staff, students and parents while inspiring an atmosphere of energy, excitement and achievement. You will also be a key member of the Whole School Leadership Team.

**OUR SCHOOL**

The British International School, Hanoi is a Nord Anglia Education School currently catering for around 1100 students at our two campuses in Long Bien, Hanoi. BIS Hanoi was founded in 2012 and remains superbly resourced, with excellent facilities and technology supporting holistic learning, leading to exceptional educational outcomes in all areas. The National Curriculum for England, IGCSE and the IB Diploma are taught to English-speaking students from the Early Years Foundation Stage to Year 13. Thas a current enrollment of around 500 students and is continuing to grow as larger year groups progress through the school.

In Early Years, the curriculum is based on the Development Matters Curriculum but crucially, is adapted to our context so that the learning experiences designed by our amazing teachers is relevant and personalized. In Year 1-6, students follow the English national curriculum for Maths and English with IPC as the basis for topics and all other learning areas. Understanding our learners is essential so we plan and adapt to suit the context and needs of our students.

BIS offers the IB Diploma Programme to an increasing number of highly capable and exceptionally well-motivated Sixth Form students. Our 2024 cohort of IB Diploma Programme graduates achieved an incredible pass rate of 98% gaining the full IBDP. Once student achieved a perfect score of 45. The average IBDP score amongst our students was an outstanding 34.7 out of 45 points with 20% students scoring 40 points or more.
