Since 2014 Volcafe has been providing direct technical assistance to farmers, helping them to improve their coffee quality, farm productivity and yields via our Volcafe Way Farmer Support Organizations (FSOs).

About the Role

The _Volcafe Trainee Program _will offer a great opportunity to talented graduates from within the local country/ regional markets and challenge them to grow into Volcafe future leaders. It is not a simple internship program, but a full-time career grow program which is unique designed for our future talents to progress their career from scratch to become a successful leader.

The program provides a unique approach to learning that matches the development pace of the individual and the needs of the business. Overall, it is anticipated to be a four-year program designed to drive learning about the business and industry through the use of Core and Elective ‘modules’ (rotations) and later, increased responsibility in a business function of the trainee’s choosing.

Trainees will initially be retained from a 2-year of “Learning by doing”. The program will provide trainees with hands on experience and the opportunity to develop key business skills and acumen. At the same time, it provides Volcafe with the opportunity to mould the attitudes and behaviours of trainees in line with core Coffee values.

From year 3 onwards, trainees will move into a permanent business role (Junior Trader) with more focused learning, responsibility, and ownership with opportunities to lead on important and impactful position/ project.

**Requirements**:

- BA or MBA in business related University education (Business, Finance, Economy, Foreign Trade, Agriculture, Engineering)
- Newly graduated or about 1-2 years of experience in commodities trading or agribusiness
- Proficient in English (mandatory)
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, good analytical skills.
- Flexibility to travel as to up-country assignments for weeks/months, and also working hours (e.g. during harvest, special projects etc)

Other requirements:

- Strong passion with coffee
- Valid passport, no restrictions to travel.
- Positive attitude towards learning by doing methods from the bottom up
- Immediate availability
