- Locating and assessing suppliers: Procurement managers look for and select vendors who can satisfy the demands of the company. They have to be aware of the market and evaluate each supplier's reputation, quality, and cost.
- Contract negotiations: After choosing reliable suppliers, procurement professionals work out the details of the agreement to make sure the company is getting the supplies it needs at the best cost and quality
- Upholding supplier ties: In order to guarantee a steady and uninterrupted supply of materials, they must uphold and manage their relationships with their present suppliers.
- Risk management: Procurement managers are responsible for evaluating and controlling risks associated with the supply of materials, such as those pertaining to price, quality, and delivery schedule.
