This position is responsible for providing strategies for medical affairs within the assigned Therapeutic Areas (HIO- Hematology, Immunology, Oncology) and new launching products. He/she will contribute to the achievement of business success by putting the patient’s needs, diagnosis, access to our medicines, and safety into primary focus by leveraging the understanding of Vietnam’s healthcare system and local regulations to evaluate the possibility of local pre-authorization/ investigational medicines.

This position is responsible for providing scientific leadership both internally and externally in the creation and execution of the medical/clinical plan for the assigned Therapeutic Areas in the country. The role includes collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and serving as a medical and scientific expert within the company, by possessing deep knowledge about the assigned Therapeutic Areas, Takeda’s products, and the competitive landscape.

This position is responsible for recruiting, training, and mentoring the medical affairs team; effectively managing the performance of the team, and conducting performance appraisal of the team members.

**PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
**Major activities**

**OVERALL**
- Develop and oversee all local Medical Affairs activities in assigned TAs and subsequently execute those plans
- Maintains a very high level of updated medical knowledge and understanding of the overall treatment and healthcare environment in the assigned TAs
- Leverages strong science to create compelling strategies for the assigned TAs that fulfill unmet medical needs, support successful product registration, and increase availability of Takeda’s medicine to patients
- Represents the assigned TAs’s Medical Affairs to senior cross-functional leadership as well as external stakeholders
- Recruit, train, and mentor the medical affairs team; effectively manage the performance of the team and conduct performance appraisal of the team members

**STRATEGIC PLANNING***
- Responsible for creating and executing the assigned TAs Medical Plan, aligned with both the Brand Plan and the Regional Medical Plan (where relevant)
- Provides medical/scientific input into the Brand Plan and is a member of the cross-functional Brand Team
- Utilizes in-field insights to support medical and scientific strategy and business development
- Develops medical strategies through effective and appropriate collaboration with the MSL team

**CONTRIBUTION TO THE ORGANIZATION THROUGH MEDICAL EXPERTISE**
- Leads the implementation of key medical activities (e.g. Advisory Boards, Focus Group Meetings, medical education and peer-to-peer training activities)
- Creates or supports the development of medical/scientific materials and slide decks as needed,
- Leads the identification of educational opportunities that are aligned with Takeda’s medical education strategies and Provides scientific support for continuous medical education (CMEs)
- Creates and delivers assigned TAs training to local teams as needed

**CORPORATE GOVERNANCE***
- Contributes or provides medical review of promotional materials for scientific meetings, symposia, and other Medical Education activities, in accordance with applicable Codes of Practice and local regulations as well as Takeda policies within defined timelines
- Ensures that the scientific-medical content as compliant with local regulatory norms and internal compliance rules
- Ensures compliance of all responsible activities to relevant laws and regulations as well as internal standards and SOPs
- Supports the company reputation and profile by representing the company on cross-company boards as needed

**EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT***
- Responsible for representing Takeda in the therapeutic area by providing an expert medical voice with external stakeholders as needed
- Establishes sustainable relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), government officials, and healthcare organizations and ensures that significant developments in the field are identified and monitored

**CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION***
- Shares medical insights in the assigned TAs to cross-functional colleagues
- Provides medical and scientific input in the assigned TAs to cross-functional stakeholders, including marketing, regulatory, market access/alliance functions, and others as required
- Advises other teams on medical and scientific matters, including but not limited to scientific approval of promotional materials
- Provides medical and scientific training to internal stakeholders as needed
- Participates in Area / Regional / Global Medical Affairs initiatives

**EVIDENCE GENERATION***
- Develops and executes data generation/dissemination plan for the assigned TAs in line with the Medical Plan
- Provides leadership and medical expertise in the development of clinical research programs in line with global strategies to support local product registration and marketing
