We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our Vietnam office as the Head of External Affairs. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the media strategy and external relationships for our clients looking to enhance their reputation in Vietnam. As the Head of External Affairs, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing effective communication plans, building and nurturing key relationships, and providing strategic guidance to our clients.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**_ Leadership over media strategy:_** Take charge of developing comprehensive media strategies for clients seeking to enhance their reputation in Vietnam. Provide strategic guidance and direction to the team to ensure effective execution of media plans.

**_ Relationship management_**_: _Take ownership of cultivating and maintaining key relationships with senior journalists, editors, and opinion leaders in Vietnam. Proactively engage with them to build mutually beneficial partnerships and opportunities for our clients.

**_ Media strategy support_**_: _Offer active support in media strategy and media engagement for ongoing client accounts, whether it involves managing media crises or executing communication campaigns. Provide guidance and counsel to clients and internal teams on media engagement best practices.

**_ Media landscape monitoring:_** Stay updated on critical movements and trends in the media landscape in Vietnam. Regularly monitor news outlets, social media platforms, and industry publications to identify opportunities and potential challenges for our clients. Brief business teams on relevant updates.

**_ Partnership establishment:_** Support the establishment of partnerships between media outlets, the agency, and our clients. Identify and pursue collaboration opportunities that align with our clients' objectives and enhance their reputation in the market.

**_ Team management:_** Lead and manage the media and influencer engagement team, ensuring they provide effective support to business teams. Oversee relationship-building activities, provide insights and guidance on media and influencer engagement strategies, and ensure the team delivers on-site support when needed.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Proven experience in media strategy development and execution, preferably in a communications consultancy or PR agency.
- Strong network and relationships with senior journalists, editors, and opinion leaders in Vietnam.
- Excellent understanding of the media landscape in Vietnam, including emerging trends and key players.
- Experience in crisis communications and managing media relations during challenging situations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team, fostering collaboration and delivering exceptional results.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide strategic insights and recommendations.
- Fluency in both Vietnamese and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
