Principal Responsibilities
- Support with the origination and execution of debt financing transactions, across pitching, structuring, negotiation, credit approval and legal documentation alongside legal counsel.
- Effectively identify and manage risks associated with more complex lending through comprehensive due diligence, including financial modelling, and appropriate transaction structuring
- Contribute to a comprehensive and efficient credit approval process at various stages, ensuring key risks have been identified and thoroughly considered
- Collaborate with other Commercial Banking and HSBC Global Banking & Markets areas to deliver holistic solutions to clients
- Engagement with clients and other key stakeholders to support transaction execution process
- Support with development of training, sales enablement and thought leadership materials to enhance ESG knowledge internally and externally
- Maintain visibility over key pipeline across business segments for in-country oversight and tracking with senior management
- Ensure adherence to all applicable operational risk and reporting standards/policies, escalating any breaches in accordance with local procedures
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of HSBC Commercial Banking products and how they are evolving to support our clients
- Solid technical foundations spanning financial modelling, credit risk analysis and deal origination / pitching
- Deep understanding of the 3 core financial statements and how to interpret them
- Familiarity with legal documentation (including term sheets), as well as local regulations
- Experience in customer facing or credit related roles, including evidence of negotiating with clients to deliver mutually satisfactory outcomes
- Keen interest in prevailing and emerging trends related to Climate Change, Net Zero, ESG and Sustainable Finance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint essential
- Strong spoken and written skills (English and Vietnamese)
