Established in 2004 in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam, APU American International School assists students aspiring to higher education in the US.

The international school operates with the motto "Pathway to US Education" APU American International School offers opportunities to students keen on getting admitted to universities in the US and abroad.


High school teacher of business administration teaches business classes to students in grades 9 through 12 introductory courses that cover the basics of the field, inclduing finance, marketing, business operations and management, following the middle school and high school standardized curriculum.


Teacher also helps student with assessing students' competency to enter into higher education of Business administration at universities and colleges in the US and abroad.


Working language at APU is 100% English, all teaching sessions and study related activities must be conducted with professional English language.


Duties and Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the High school teacher of business administration are, but not limited to, the following:

  • Prepare and deliver lectures to undergraduate and/or graduate students on topics such as financial accounting, principles of marketing, and operations management.
  • Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
  • Ensuring all curriculum meet all requirements of the Common Core Curriculum.
  • Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
  • Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
  • Compile, administer, and grade examinations, or assign this work to others.
  • Keep abreast of developments in their field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional organizations and conferences.
  • Advise students on academic and vocational curricula, and on career orientation in Business Administration.
  • Collaborate with members of the business community to improve programs, to develop new programs, and to provide student access to learning opportunities such as internships.
  • Participate in student recruitment, registration, and placement activities.
  • Conduct research in a particular field of knowledge, and publish findings in professional journals, books, and/or electronic media.
  • Foster and maintain effective communication with parents and/or guardians.
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal or other appropriate administrator

Required Qualifications, Experiences and Skills

  • A Bachelor's degree in education with a specialization in business administration; a master's degree is preferable;
  • A relevant certification or license for teaching is required;
  • Be familiar with the US highschool education, especially Common Core Curriculum;
  • Excellent in professional, academic and communicational English, English as mother tongue is preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Be able to engage with young people and develop lesson plans that resonate with them;
  • Compassion and a personable manner;
Resilience and the ability to work with students from multiple backgrounds.
