    POSITION PURPOSE:

The Student Project Advisor is responsible to plan, organise and support students with their projects and activities, ensuring students' proposals and initiatives are advised, consulted to follow university's process and regulations and support their projects from ideation to implementation.

He or she is to liaise within Student Engagement Department, Student Life team, and other operational departments on the students' activities and events to ensure the smooth and efficient operations and maximise the engagement of students to BUV Student Led Projects to build a strong student community that distinguish BUV students, exhibit their talents and foster their creativity and innovation.


AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Advising and supporting students' initiatives and student projects

  • Act as point of contact to the project leaders of the students' initiated activities and events of the University whenever required and ensure that their projects are well supervised during the whole process and adhere to university's policies and regulations
  • Manage, advise, consult all students project in building proposals, idea generations, communications campaign, event planning, implementation and ensure the project quality aligns with university's brand and positioning
Provide training and develop useful guidelines and materials where necessary for the students' societies, review students' proposals and funding request to ensure the best possible support and outcomes to their projects while maintaining compliance to the university policies and procedures

Act as point of contact on behalf of the students' projects to BUV's operational and functional departments, partners, suppliers and vendors to ensure effective communications, smooth implementation of the projects and professionalism to all stakeholders

Work closely with BUV Marcoms Department and SE Student Communications Officer to support promotion of students' projects and enhance exposure of BUV students' positive attributes to the public via their outstanding project results

Others
Develop informational and promotional materials and content about student activities and student projects to expose BUV students' success and project achievements,

Maintain and publicize calendar of student events and activities.

Maintain proactive communications on the student life social media as needed

Update the report to manager on all students' activities and relevant projects, social events and sponsorship/cooperation and developments on a weekly basis

Ensure that all activities organised adhere to established policies, procedures, rules and regulations and within approved budget

Prepare periodic reports and newsletter updates for the University and its stakeholders as required

Assist the department and the university in other areas when the need arises

COMPETENCIES (knowledge, skills, and abilities)

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Good in project and event management, planning and particularly in execution
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills as well as a cando attitude
  • Ability to use professional camera and use of design software (Photoshop and Illustrator) will be preferable
