Responsibilities:

As the Database Administration Expert, you will be responsible for

  • Prevent the emergence of incidents & problems.
  • Addressing DB infrastructure deficiencies, risks, and issues proactively, then implementing a mitigation strategy to enhance service quality.
  • Assess and evaluate the DB infrastructure's vulnerabilities and hazards on a periodic basis.
  • Manage and perform handson incident/problem resolution.
  • Manage the troubleshooting and directly manage incidents and problems associated with the DB infrastructure.
  • Determine the root cause of the incidents and problems, define and implement the solutions to rapidly restore the services and prevent their recurrence.
  • Cooperate with DB operation functions to develop and implement operation best practices, standards, and frameworks within the company's DB operation.
  • Instruct and assist.
  • Enhance operational procedures and instruments.
  • Observe and report on the operational activities' actual compliance.

Key Accountability (1)

  • As a foundation for the efficient and stable administration of services, collaborate with the relevant departments to gain a thorough understanding of the DB infrastructure.
  • Define operation frameworks, standards, processes, protocols, and tools for the DB infrastructure and disseminate them to the DB operation functions for daily use.
  • Analyze and propose enhancements to the organization's technology and standards.
  • Participate in training courses to maintain current knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies pertaining to IT operation support.
  • Advise, instruct, and assist individuals in the DB operation function.
  • Participate as a key member of the incident response team to directly drive incident/problem handling progress and be responsible for analyzing and concluding the root cause of incidents and problems; define and implement the solutions to quickly recover the services and prevent their reoccurrence.
  • Develop a methodology and assessment plan to proactively address weaknesses, risks, and problems on the DB infrastructure, and then provide a plan to enhance service quality.
  • Provide creative and independent solutions to technical problems while maintaining productivity and service quality.
  • Monitor and report on the operational activities' actual compliance.
  • Provide periodic updates to the Director of the Excellent Center for Infrastructure Services.

Key Accountability (2)

  • Identify risks and collaborate with relevant divisions to propose methods to measure and reduce risks in the DB infrastructure operations.
  • Ensure that team members adhere to the Bank's regulations and policies and meet their service quality commitments.

Experience requirements:

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years or more of experience as a DBA.
  • Competence in service development and operation

Skills

  • Good spoken and written communication in English.
  • Advanced certification such as OCP, OCM is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation languages, including Oracle Database, MS SQL, Hadoop, or PostgreSQL.
  • Analytical mindset and excellent problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Extremely organized and accountable.
  • Capable of functioning under duress.
  • Aware of the most recent trends and advancements in DBA.

Education requirements:

A Bachelor ́s degree in computer science or a related field.
