Summary of Role:


As the Contract Controller, you will be reporting to the Project Manager and taking the ownership of the contract management tasks.


What You Will Do:

  • Contract Management work including but not limited to:
  • Design high-level contract strategy, undertake research and consult with key stakeholders to shape contract management procedure, guidelines and process improvements;
  • Manage the development, implementation and ongoing management of contracts;
  • Maintain sustainable contract management practices aligned with Mainstream Global Development Standards, process, policy, financial integrity and probity;
  • Ensure outcomes of contract management activities are aligned to Mainstream's objectives and budgets;
  • Manage the contract process of the complex and high risk contracts;
  • Work with the legal and commercial teams in the drafting the commercial terms and conditions for Tendering local package for project delivery;
  • Negotiate or provides advice to contract negotiation to attain the most appropriate contract based on sound commercial and legal principles;
  • Appy effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible commercial issues;
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers/Contractor and leverage them to resolve complex or contentious contractual disputes.
  • Maintain all the related relationship to relevant authorities of a contract delivery.
  • Document control:
  • Organize project documentation properly according to the Industry's and Mainstream's standards.
  • Ensure projects are developed in accordance with Mainstream's policies and procedures and in accordance with all applicable legislation.
  • Monitor regulations and policies related to energy and investment.
  • Monitor, collect and organize information related to development of renewable energy projects in Vietnam and the region.
  • Current specific projects to be assigned for contract management: Offshore Wind in Soc Trang and Ben Tre
  • Other tasks as required by managers.

What We Require:

  • Graduate Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Energy or similar
  • At least 2 years of experience in similar roles
  • Excellent organization and planning skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Use own initiative to propose work methodologies and solutions to problems
  • Good understanding of project management including commercial and technical risk assessment
  • Good understanding of general project development process in Vietnam including site identification, resource assessment, constraints analysis, and permitting process
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively independently and in a team environment
  • Able to maintain the respect and confidence of team members
  • A selfstarter with a "cando" attitude who demonstrates handson accountability for their area of responsibility
  • Ability to use Microsoft software packages such as Word, Excel, Outlook is essential
  • Flexibility to travel on a regular basis is essential
  • Experience in the renewable energy sector is a plus but not mandatory
  • English fluency is a must.
