Position: Physical Design Engineer

Locations: Ho Chi Minh City / Da Nang

Industry: Semiconductor

Salary: Negotiate

Responsibilities:


• Handle the entire PD workflow—from initial floorplan setup to final physical verification.


• Perform block-level or chip-level PnR, ensuring the design meets timing, power, and congestion targets.


• Troubleshoot timing issues (setup/hold), power integrity, IR drop, and EM concerns.


• Continuously refine PPA (Performance, Power, Area) across each phase of the flow.


• Coordinate closely with RTL, Verification, DFT, Architecture, and other design groups to maintain consistency and resolve design challenges.


• Participate in technical discussions and design reviews, providing insights and recommendations.


• Work with major industry tools (Synopsys, Cadence) for sign-off and implementation.


• Develop or improve automation scripts (Python/TCL/Shell) to enhance PD efficiency and reduce manual workload.


• Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to internal PD workflow enhancements.

Requirements:


• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or similar fields.


• At least 3 years of hands-on experience working on Physical Design for ASIC/SoC products.


• Strong command of PnR tools such as Innovus, ICC2, or Fusion Compiler.


• Solid scripting abilities (TCL, Python, Shell).


• Comfortable working in Linux/Unix environments.


• Able to manage tasks independently and take full responsibility for assigned design blocks.


• Good communication skills; English proficiency is required.
