Overview:

A leading autonomous and electric vehicle company is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Lead to establish and oversee full vehicle manufacturing operations in Vietnam. This is a senior leadership position responsible for driving operational excellence across production, safety, quality, cost, and team performance while supporting the company's large-scale manufacturing growth and product launch roadmap.

Position Overview:

The Manufacturing Lead will oversee the end-to-end production and plant operations, ensuring all manufacturing processes, systems, and teams deliver to world-class automotive standards. This role will manage plant performance, capacity planning, quality control, equipment reliability, and logistics while fostering a lean, high-performance culture. The ideal candidate will bring strong OEM experience and a proven background in vehicle manufacturing leadership, particularly within EV or hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of production operations, ensuring achievement of targets for safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Develop and execute annual, quarterly, and monthly production plans aligned with sales forecasts and capacity requirements.
  • Plan, design, and implement new production lines and plant expansion projects, including layout, construction, and launch.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive safety and environmental management system in compliance with national and local laws.
  • Drive cost reduction, process optimization, and waste elimination through lean manufacturing, TPM, and Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Oversee in-process quality management, ensuring compliance with IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, and TPS standards.
  • Manage the equipment lifecycle, implementing maintenance strategies to ensure high uptime and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate logistics operations to ensure timely availability of materials and on-schedule production output.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to pilot new products and secure smooth transition into mass production.
  • Build and develop high-performing production teams, implementing structured training, succession planning, and performance reviews.
  • Promote a zero-accident, zero-defect, zero-waste culture throughout the manufacturing organization.

Key Requirements:

  • Fluency in Vietnamese and English (must).
  • Automotive / OEM industry experience (must).
  • Based in Vietnam or willing to relocate (must).
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in vehicle manufacturing, with at least 15 years of experience, including 5+ years in a senior plant or operations leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of stamping, body welding, paint, and final assembly processes.
  • Proficient in IATF 16949, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success leading new model launches or greenfield plant projects, ideally in EV/Hybrid production.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt, IATF Internal Auditor, or Certified Safety Engineer are highly desirable.
