Role Overview:

The Senior Expert, Design Management will serve as a
strategic advisor and design governance leader
, ensuring all design packages (Architecture, MEP, Interior) meet project vision, international standards, and operational requirements. This role focuses on
reviewing, guiding, and coordinating
external design consultants and contractors throughout the lifecycle—from concept to construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Governance:
    Define and enforce design principles, guidelines, and quality standards across all disciplines.
  • Review & Advisory:
    Evaluate design proposals for compliance, functionality, and alignment with
    Skytrax 5-Star standards
    ; provide expert recommendations for optimization.
  • Integration Oversight:
    Ensure seamless coordination between architectural design and airport systems (baggage handling, security, IT infrastructure, passenger flow).
  • Stakeholder Management:
    Act as the key liaison between consultants, contractors, and internal teams to resolve design conflicts and maintain quality.
  • Planning & Monitoring:
    Track design progress, validate deliverables, and ensure alignment with project schedule and construction milestones.
  • Risk & Compliance:
    Identify design-related risks, propose mitigation strategies, and ensure adherence to international codes and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years
    of experience in design management, design review, or advisory roles for large-scale, complex projects (preferably airports or transportation hubs).
  • Strong understanding of international design standards, building codes, and airport operational requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary design coordination and governance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Fluent in English; experience in multicultural environments preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in
    airport design projects
    or other large-scale transportation hubs.
  • Familiarity with
    Skytrax 5-Star Airport standards
    and global best practices for passenger experience.
  • Strong ability to integrate Architecture, MEP, and Interior design packages seamlessly.
  • Understanding of
    airport systems integration
    (baggage handling, security screening, IT infrastructure).
  • Proficiency in
    BIM
    and digital design coordination tools.
  • Expertise in
    value engineering
    and sustainable design principles (LEED, WELL, or equivalent).
  • Ability to manage
    multicultural teams
    and work effectively in global environments.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills with consultants and contractors.
  • Exposure to advanced airport technologies and automation systems is a plus.
